Bel Etage Office, Vienna - Inner city - AT, www.nusarch.com

—-Kinetic core house —-„How will we defy increasingly severe and prolonged extreme weather events like heatwaves, tornadoes, and heavy rainfall in the future?

The ‚Kinetic Core House‘ by www.nusarch.com combines the passive earth sheltered construction of traditional Chinese Dikengyuan courtyard houses with modern kinetics to create a climate-resilient residential building.
A thick, greened layer of earth and integrated ventilation towers keep the indoor temperature constant year-round, completely without any heating or cooling systems.
The movable roof over the central courtyard responds dynamically to weather conditions – from maximum opening on sunny days to complete protection during heatwaves, heavy rain, or storm gusts. The house thus combines natural protection with a high quality of living.“
