New SchoolTV Resource for Parents - Mental Health Literacy: A Guided Reflection

Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our children starts with understanding the signs, knowing how to respond and feeling confident about where to seek help. The latest SchoolTV Special Report is now available:

The report includes a Mental Health Literacy Reflection Tool, giving you the opportunity to:
• Recognise the early signs that a child or young person may need support.
• Build confidence in having important conversations about mental health.
• Learn where to access help and support when needed.
• Reflect on your own knowledge and identify ways to strengthen it.

We encourage all parents and carers to take a few moments to explore this important resource via the following link:

DCC Riders Shine at the QLD Young Aldridge Equestrian Challenge.

From 23–26 July, Discovery Christian College students proudly represented the College at the Queensland Youth Aldridge Equestrian Challenge in Maryborough, competing alongside more than 130 riders across 14 year levels.

Following two days of educational clinics and two days of competition, every one of our riders returned home with ribbons—an outstanding achievement!

For several students, this was their first Aldridge Youth Challenge. They embraced every opportunity to learn, stepped outside their comfort zones and approached each challenge with enthusiasm and determination.

Congratulations to all of our students on the exceptional way they represented themselves and the College. A special congratulations to those who achieved Reserve Champion in their year level and those who received the prestigious Judges' Award.

We are incredibly proud of you all!

On Friday our Prep students celebrated 100 Days of Prep by dressing up as 100 year olds! A fantastic day was had celebrating this special milestone by making 100 Days crowns, decorating biscuits with hundreds and thousands, counting collections to 100, working together to build towers using 100 cups, and writing about what they think they'll be doing when they're 100 years old.

There were lots of laughs, wonderful costumes and so much learning along the way. A fun day celebrating together, as very wise 100 year olds.
