International Overdose Awareness Day

Overdose can happen to anyone and its impact is felt across families, friendships and communities. We remember those who have died, support those affected and challenge the stigma that can stop people from seeking help.

Knowing the signs of overdose, carrying naloxone and acting quickly can save a life. If you think someone is overdosing, give naloxone if available, call 000 and stay with them until help arrives.

Free naloxone is available locally through Your Community Health. You can access it through their Needle and Syringe Program at health centres in East Reservoir, Preston and Northcote, Monday to Friday from 9 am–5 pm. Their mobile outreach service can also deliver naloxone Monday to Saturday evenings. Call 0418 545 789 between 7.30 pm and 11 pm. There are no fees or waiting lists.

Free naloxone is also available without a prescription from participating pharmacies and other Take-Home Naloxone providers across Victoria and Harm Reduction Victoria also provides free monthly naloxone training and kits:

🧶Drop-in is on as usual on Tues, Wed and Thurs from 2:30-5:30pm, for young people aged 12-25. Enjoy some free snacks, get cozy with a board game, or cook up a storm in the kitchen!
