The Desert Elephants of Namibia! 🐘

Incredibly adapted to the harshest environment, these largest of our land animals exist right on the edge of what may be considered possible.
Small, isolated herds roam through the red dunes between seasonal river valleys, listening and then digging for underground water.

To see them is a wonder, to photograph them remains a wonder 🙏🏽 📸

A frosty winters morning. Crawl out of the bedroll, mind set on a hot coffee by the fire and the possibilities of a new dawn. Rolling out of camp before sunrise, open the day on a blank canvas. Rounding a bend, a feline shape glistens under the rising sun. Lift the camera and embrace the moment forever.

Intimate moments in the wild come when you least expect them..

Sitting quietly in the grass near a snoozing pack of African Wild Dog, we were rewarded for hours of patience when the dogs finally got up and started their late afternoon routine.
After lots of greetings and yippings, one of the senior females came over to take a closer look at us. Stopping just a few feet away, we had a few powerful moments of intimacy and connection with this totally wild animal. This is what safari is all about. 🌍🏕️🇧🇼

It is heating up in Southern Africa as the dry season tightens its grip. Water is key for man and beast alike.

While on safari with

The lions of the Mababe Depression are a sight to behold!
On this particular morning we came across the huge pride with no less than 7 buffalo carcasses scattered across a sticky, muddy swamp where they had been cornered!

We found them as the day was heating up, a few youngsters just couldn’t leave the feast despite the building heat. Finally, one by one they waded their way towards shade and a rest.
