ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OUTREACH DRIVE

Recently, Environmental Health Department engaged hawkers operating around the mall on key issues affecting public health, safety and the cleanliness of the area.

The reach out initiative focused on:
• Littering around the mall
• Indiscriminate public urination and defecation
• The mushrooming of vendors and snooker tables along walkways, public parking areas and road junctions
• Abandoned market stalls
• Washing of vehicles in public parking areas
• Food safety, with particular emphasis on potato handling and storage

The session encouraged cooperation and shared responsibility in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly trading environment that benefits vendors, customers and the community at large.

Mababe Zokotsama Community Development Trust Donates Medical Supplies to NWDC

The Mababe Zokotsama Community Development Trust (MZCDT) has donated medical supplies worth P30,000 to the North West District Council (NWDC) to support healthcare service delivery.

Speaking during the handover, Trust Chairperson Mr. Molathegi Matsamo said the donation reflects the Trust's commitment to addressing community needs and improving lives through partnerships. Welcoming the gesture, NWDC Chairperson Hon. Itumeleng Kelebetseng thanked the Trust for responding to the Council's appeal for support, noting that such partnerships demonstrate a shared commitment to serving Motswana.

Health Committee Chairperson Hon. Phenyo Moshongo commended the Trust's generosity, emphasizing that protecting lives is a shared responsibility requiring collaboration between Government, the private sector and community organisations.

Although the donation is intended for Mababe Health Post, the Trust reaffirmed its willingness to assist wherever there is need, while encouraging other trusts and community organisations to emulate its commitment to community development.
