RIP Dorito, my special little friend.
The reality of death.
The transition from being captured in flesh to bring released back to the world of spirit.
Nothing shows this more clearly than having pet chickens.
Especially those who live out their lives in your care.
When their time draws near and they slow down, they wish to isolate. Mostly with a close friend and/or the primary caregiver.
And in this loving, supported environment they release their bodies.
I've had other pets, including horses, but none makes death feel so noble, uncomplicated, peaceful.
Fly high my feathered friends.
Your mommy miss you all.

King David passed unexpectedly. He is missed by all of us, especially his best friends and his favourite hens. Rest well my chocolate box rooster.

"Legolas" my golden boy. He came to me like so many of my original flock members. Just showing up at the coop gate, demanding to be let in. A lost little teenager without a flock. He grew up, becoming one of the foundation roosters. After his broken leg he is now retired, living the life of a special friend with many cuddles.

Rip little one. Sometimes life is not meant to be. You fought valiantly and I tried everything to make you thrive. But your little body was defective and could not support life 😭

Saved an injured parrot today. The rescue collected it within an hour. Belize Bird Rescue! Wonderful people helping our feathered friends.

Even in olden times bachelor flocks were kept as eye candy. I truly enjoy all my boys.
