Full Circle Belize - FCB

Every bottle collected, every bin placed, every conversation held, and every piece of plastic transformed has been part of a bigger story.

Through Full Circle Belize, communities, schools, partners, youth, and businesses have helped show that plastic waste can become something useful, and that environmental action starts with people working together.

For now, the Full Circle Belize project will be placed on pause.

In the next days, we will be collecting the recycling bins from participating communities, as we are currently not able to transport plastic for processing. We kindly ask community members to avoid leaving plastic waste at the bins once they have been removed.

This is not goodbye to the work. It is a pause.

We are proud of what has been achieved so far, and we remain hopeful that Full Circle Belize can return stronger, with new energy, stronger partnerships, and more ways for communities and companies to be part of the solution.

To our community members, partners, schools, volunteers, and supporters: thank you for believing in this work and taking action with us.

If your organisation, business, or community group would like to help support the return of Full Circle Belize, partner with us, or explore the purchase of recycled plastic products, we would be happy to hear from you. You can contact Eder at [email protected]

Together, we have already shown what is possible. We hope to continue the journey soon.

Their learning continued with a visit to the Belize Zoo, where they saw why conservation matters.

Then, on August 7, they put that knowledge into practice during a coastal clean-up on a caye off Riversdale.

Together, they collected 14 bags of plastic waste, removing about 100 kg of plastic from the marine environment.

Some of the waste appeared to have travelled from a neighbouring country, reminding us that plastic pollution has no borders. What enters the water in one place can reach the shores of another.

This is why youth action matters. This is why community action matters.

24 participants. 14 bags. 100 kg of plastic removed. One shared responsibility.

Thank you to all participants, parents, facilitators, partners, volunteers, and supporters who made this journey possible. Special thanks to the Belize Forest Department, Belize Solid Waste Management Authority, Belize National Biodiversity Office, Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change, and Oceana Belize for supporting this work.
