What we posted vs how we got there 😅

Our conservation crew has worked hard this summer sampling various creeks to fill the data gaps about Bull Trout and Brook Trout distribution and abundance 🐟

Brook Trout distribution is important as they outcompete and hybridize with Bull Trout, negatively affecting their population.

We’d like to thank our friends at Red Deer River Watershed Association for helping us out this summer with sampling across 16 different sites!

This work wouldn’t be possible without funding from DFO’s Habitat Stewardship Program, ACA’s Conservation, Community, and Education Grants!

If you’d like to be part of supporting our on the ground projects consider volunteering, becoming a member, or donating!

Beaver Dam Analogues help to restore the natural climate resiliency of the creek by mimicking natural beaver dams by pooling water. This increases water storages, floodplain connectivity, and improves instream and riparian habitat conditions!

We’d love to have you out there in the field!
