St. Peter's Anglican Church
A Christ-centered, compassion filled family which focuses on Worship, Prayer, Education, Fellowship and Outreach to respond to the needs of the Community. St.
Peter's Anglican Church, located in the community of Upper Gullies, is housed in the oldest church building in the town of Conception Bay South. Historically part of the Missions of South Shore Conception Bay and Foxtrap, the congregation began meeting in the former Hopewell Church, in 1876. As the number of settlers in the area grew, so did the congregation. By 1898 it was clear to both clergy and people that a new place of worship was needed. On July 20, 1905, the cornerstone was laid for the present church building, which was consecrated as St. Peter’s Church on November 16, 1909. Peter's became an independent parish of the Anglican Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador on September 26, 1976. The Parish Hall Annex was completed in November 1980, giving St. Peter's it current form. In 2003, the church and adjoining cemetery were designated heritage properties by the Town of Conception Bay South.

THE STORY OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER
During the Men's Service Club's (MSC) next meeting (Octoer 19, 2026), there will be a short presentation (15- 20 mins) by Woodrow French on the Journey of our own Unknown Soldier. This eI a very fitting tribute leading up to Remembrance Day.
Our Ladies and members of the ACW are cordially invited. I just like to gage their interest in attending so we could prepare a slightly bigger lunch at the end. My intention was to schedule the presentation at the end of our meeting so we would have more time with Woodrow and the Ladies. Please let me know who will be attending. Please phone Gary at 709-632-0780.
Thank you, and see you at this patriotic event.

A wonderful retreat for the MSC.
Fun, Food, Fellowship and Worship Galore
What a wonderful time was had by all. It was a couple of days filled with fellowship, laughter, friendly competition, great music and plenty of food. - the ingredients for a memorable gathering.
There was no shortage of of competition as the cards were flying, the cribbage boards were busy and the washers were getting plenty of action.
The music was another highlight with Rev Bill and Ralph leading us in song.
The food was delicious. Chefs Bob and Ray did a stellar job as usual.
The retreat concluded with the celebration of Holy Communion bringing our time together to a meaningful and prayerful close.
A sincere thank you to Ray and Bob who made sure the retreat was well organized.
We returned home with a full stomach, happy hearts and a few stories to tell. God bless everyone and we look forward to our next gathering.
God bless
Gary - president MSC

ST. PETER'S MEN TAKE UP THE CROPS FOR CHAIRITY (Part 2)
The MSC had an awesome morning (Sept. 26th) harvesting our crop for the C.B.S. / Paradise Food Bank. Thanks to all who helped and to Paul (recuperating from knee surgery) and Pam for the coffee and treats. Thanks to Ray Dawe for the use of his land and equipment. Many thanks today as well to Glen Morgan for providing (filling our license) the MSC with our moose and to Bob H. who helped clean it up. Great morning of fellowship and service. God Bless you all

(Pst Pst... Sorry but I forgot some detail on our Moose. Thank you Glen Morgan for planting our 4 legged Friend to Bob H's so he could turn it into all chopped meat and ground beef. Lot's of big juicy sausages for the next Moose Sausage and Bean Supper. We can taste it now - nothing but the very best. More on ths event later.
Good Morning All. (Part 1)
What a glorious day. I Trust everyone finds Themselves in good health and enjoying this great weather. The good book says, "A time to sow and a time to harvest" Ecclesiastes 3:2. A time to sow is a time for patience, hope and hard work. A time to harvest is a time for gratitude, reflection, and sharing the blessings that have come. Ray Dawe suggests its time to harvest our crop and reap the benefits of our good work. If you are available tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 am we will meet at the garden and harvest what we have sown. We need to pull the stocks while Ray will use his machinery to dig the potatoes. Would be great to see to good number for this short activity. Thanks to Glen Morgan for helping to harvest the crop and taking it to the food bank.
God Bless
Gary
