The little Halloween treat bags we leave for the kiddos, the videos of their excitement, the furry friends who greet us with wagging tails, and the families who welcome us into their homes week after week. These are the moments that make Sunshine Gurls so much more than a cleaning company.

We love knowing that when Mom and Dad come home, the house is peaceful, the coffee can be poured, and instead of worrying about what needs to be cleaned, they can simply be together.

Because a beautiful home is lovely, but the memories made inside it are what matter most.

That’s luxury cleaning. That’s peaceful living. That’s Sunshine Gurls.

Five years of Sunshine Gurls.

Five years ago, a little dream began with my mom, a willingness to work hard, and a heart for helping people.

By October 2021, things were beginning to take off. In January 2022, I joined her, and together we began building something that would become so much more than a cleaning business.

Five years later, I realize our success has never really been about how many homes we can clean. It’s about the trust we’ve been given, the relationships we’ve built, and the lives we’ve had the privilege of being part of.

It’s in the little things. Remembering the details that matter. Taking an extra moment to make someone feel cared for. Knowing that a little support at home can mean less stress, more breathing room, and more time for the people and things that matter most.

Behind the scenes, there have been long days, unexpected challenges, and seasons that have asked a lot of us. Building a small business takes perseverance, patience, and a whole lot of heart. But we keep coming back to why we started.

Because what we do is about more than cleaning. It’s about helping make room for life itself.

Over the years, our work has woven its way into the lives of so many wonderful people, through familiar faces, thoughtful gestures, shared conversations, and the trust that grows when someone genuinely cares.

To every client who has welcomed us into their home, supported our business, or recommended us to someone they love, thank you. You have helped shape Sunshine Gurls into what it is today.

Five years later, our hearts remain where they started: in thoughtful care, meaningful connections, and the belief that even the smallest acts of kindness can make someone’s day a little lighter.

We’re a small team by design.

And that means we can offer something that simply isn’t possible when you’re trying to service hundreds of homes.

Our client relationships are personal. Our service is deeply tailored. We notice things. We remember things. We care about the people, the pets and the little details that make a house feel like home.

This week, one of our longtime clients had her bedding in the wash when I arrived. I moved it to the dryer, remade all three beds, and while I was there I brought her some spider plants, a little Thanksgiving card and Halloween treats for the kids.

I made the kids’ rooms feel special. One little elephant got a shirt put on him. A teddy bear was tucked into a blanket. A bunny got to wear a tiny doll diaper that happened to be lying nearby.

I noticed lavender in the bathroom and tucked a little sprig into a beautifully folded paper towel.

I opened a window for the cats and made them a cozy spot to enjoy the fresh air.

I pulled out the stove because it needed some attention, made note of a few things I’d like to tackle next time, and adjusted the lighting so she would come home to a warm, welcoming house.

And throughout the day, we stayed connected.

These things aren’t on a checklist.

They’re simply what happens when you genuinely know the people whose homes you care for.

She’s been with us for three years now. They’ve become the kind of clients who send us home with tomatoes from their garden and maple syrup from their trees. There is trust, friendship, gratitude and a whole lot of mutual care.

That connection is something we don’t take for granted.

Sunshine Gurls isn’t a huge cleaning company, and we don’t want to be.

We intentionally keep our circle small so that what we offer can remain thoughtful, consistent and deeply personal.

Because yes, we clean your home.

But what we really want you to feel when you walk through the door is that someone who knows your home, your people and your life has been there.

And that is something pretty special.
