For my last Facebook post with Fanshawe’s English Language Institute, I want to share some photos from last night of our hard-working students at the London Food Bank. This crew did a great job with a lot of heart. ❤️
It was so rewarding for me to spend time with all of our volunteers over the past few years. I will miss opportunities like this, 🥲 but I feel fortunate for times we spent helping others.

Even with the hot weather these days, we couldn’t go to the beach. So we decided to bring the beach to our classes on ELI Beach Day. Students teachers and staff dressed in some of the favourite beach wear.
Special shout-out for TJ who went all-in with a pink flamingo and beach towel.

My nickname is Margaret. A teacher in my middle school gave me this name.

☕ Tim Horton’s or Starbucks? What is your go-to drink?
I prefer Tim Horton’s because it’s cheaper.
I usually get a large double-double.

💬 What is your favourite word? Least favourite word?
My favourite word is transform because I believe change can make me better.
My least favourite word is discrimination because it can hurt people.

📢 What sound/noise do you love? Do you hate?
I love the sound a gentle and polite voice. When I hear this, it helps me to change to this speaking style and I feel comfortable.
I hate the sound of parties in my neighbourhood in the middle of the night.

💪 What gives you motivation?
I get motivated when I think if the different careers I will have in my life journey.

🎒👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓 What do you want to do after EAP?
After EAP, I want to study to be a Social Service Worker.

📢 Do you have any strong memories/impressions of Fanshawe College/London/Canada?
I will always remember getting the Heart Award from Caroline, Irena and Katie because it meant my teachers recognized my efforts.

I would like to hear my teachers say, “Margaret, you got a high score!”

It would be good if my classmates said I gave them some help.

I want people to know about my past job experience as a teacher in China.

My son calls me Snail because I crawl like a snail when we play hide and seek.

Tim Horton’s because they have desserts I want to eat. My favourite drink is a double-double, of course!

My favourite word is exercise. For example, I play badminton with my classmates twice a week.
My least favourite word in insect. My son brings these in my house and this bothers me.

📢 What sound/noise do you love? Do you hate?
I love the sound of children’s voices when they are playing in the park, but I hate the sound of snoring.

💪 What gives you motivation?
My son makes me motivated.

I want to stay in Canada for a while, and then I will go back to Korea to continue being a police officer.

I’ve only been in Canada for a few months, so maybe I will remember the arrival of spring.

I hope my teachers say my pronunciation is good.

I want to hear my classmates say, “C’mon, let’s play badminton!”

I like being a police officer in Korea because it is an exciting job. I go to schools and tell students about the things they shouldn’t do, like fighting and stealing.
