🚨NEUTER DAY🚨
MEET Robin, Stark, Woody and Arrow ...all boys
Wish them luck today - the vicious cycle stops 🛑 today for these boys...they will not 🚫 be contributing to the over population of unwanted kittens.
These are 4 brothers that are part of the 15 kittens we took in a week ago from a hoarding / unfixed female cats not 🚫 fixed situation that went baaaaaaadd.
Bylaw was involved as the 15 kittens (plus the other cats) were all let out the door every morning and let back in at night - this was in the city and neighbours were concerned.
Thank you Breanna and Mindy for orchestrating this rescue - it was not easy dealing with the owner :(
These 4 boys are healthy, now neutered and vaccinated and ready to gooooooooooo!!!! To their forever homes 🏡
✅All are about 5 mths old
✅All are well socialized
To adopt please apply at :
https://forms.gle/xGJtLaSiZnSDAxfV9
Adoption fee is $300 or two kittens for $500.
🚨UNPOPULAR OPINION - There is no such thing as a free 🐈 kitten 🚨
For those of us that rescue 🌍 when we see people posting looking for a "free" kitten our brains 🧠instantly say "there is no such thing as a free kitten "
We know !
The kittens that we intake, we get spayed/neutered and we get them vaccinated at 16 weeks of age- this is included in your adoption fee of $300..
Our $300 adoption fee most of the time doesn't cover the resources we have put into the kittens 🐈.
Kittens aren't always healthy either and then that requires extra funds to get them healthy.
True story: we went to pick up 4 "healthy' kittens from a local barn - we left with 4 sick kittens plus a CH kitty that was also sick and wouldnt have survived living at a barn. We immediately had to go to the vet and we left the vets office 5 hours later with only 4 kittens - Pumpkin didn't make it 😭.
A kitten is never free if you are doing the required vetting.
The thing that also goes through our brains 🧠is will the person getting the "free" kitten actually spay /neuter it ? There most likely are good intentions that they will but when they find out how long the waiting list is to get into a spay/neuter clinic is or what the procedure costs done at their local vet, will they still do it ?
Will the horrible cycle continue of more "free kittens" to give away once their kitten gets big enough to procreate ?
Please consider adopting one of our available kittens that 🚫aren't free...we won't apologize about it‼️
We are ensuring that the cycle is stopped 🛑 and that is all part of what rescue is all about.

🚨OUR COTTAGE PAWS RESCUE SPONSORS 🚨
Thank you 🙏🏿to our sponsors :)
We appreciate you !!!
Want to know more about being a Cottage Paws Rescue 🐾 Sponsor❓
To discuss please email us at: [email protected]
What does it mean to have a sponsorship with us ?
✅It's a one time donation of $300
✅We post your business a few times a month
✅You are helping the animals in our community ♥️
✅The funds go towards medical expenses, spays/neuters, vaccinations, food, litter, supplies for our fosters - our adoption fees do not 🚫 cover all of these fees especially if there are medical issues and that leaves our rescue at a loss - your sponsorship helps by infusing funds to cover these extra expenses. We want to keep our adoption fees affordable !
✅you are literally SAVING LIVES ‼️

🚨YOUR FEEL GOOD BEDTIME😴 STORY 🚨
Remember BANDIT ❓
Isn't he majestic looking ❓
He was formally Mr Miyagi.
He is FIV positive and was dropped off at a Quebec shelter which made his odds of getting adopted less. I remember pre-approving a woman named Lisa for adoption
Lisa was very determined that she wanted another FIV POSITIVE kitty to go with her other 2 FIV kitties.
She knew that finding homes wasn't always as easy for FIV cats.
FIV is not what it used to be made out to be and these cats can live very long healthy lives.
Long story short, Lisa chose Mr Miyagi off the euthanasia list and saved him. Lisa was responsible for finding homes for 3 other cats off the euthanasia list to friends and family. She kept in touch regularly.
One a little over a year ago, I was scrolling and totally by accident there was a post that came into my feed...it said Lisa had passed away of a heart attack and that the family was looking for a home 🏠 for Mr. Miyagi 😭
Here's the thing.....it's right in our adoption contract that if an animal can no longer be looked after by the adopter or isn't wanted anymore, the animal 🐾is to come back to Cottage Paws Rescue 🐾...once a Cottage Paws animal, ALWAYS a Cottage Paws animal.
We stand behind our animals 🐾
I reached out to the family and informed them of this.
This time ⏰, Mr Miyagi was SAVED by Mary. Mary already had an FIV cat at home. Mary couldn't bare the thought of him being left alone in that apartment so she went and got him immediately upon approval.
Mr Miyagi was biting himself and definitely had some skin issues when Mary got him. The poor guy :(
Mary has been his life saver and gave him a new wonderful life. Thank you 🙏🏿 Mary.
This boy is one heck of a lucky boy.
BANDIT (Mr Miyagi) is now part of Smokey and the Bandit 😆
Love this‼️
Bandit is celebrating one year in his new home 🏡 today ♥️
Thank you for the update Mary ♥️
In the rescue world 🌍 we constantly see sad and bad things and a lot of times our faith in humanity is questioned. That's why we love receiving updates on the animals we've helped over the years. So please keep them coming!!! We appreciate it !

🚨INTRODUCING THE FOREST🌲FAMILY🚨
⚠️FOSTER HOME 🏡 NEEDED FOR THE 5 KITTENS ⚠️
Remember last weekend when we were busy helping homeowners live trap and catch 5 kittens and a momma cat 🐈 that were located outside of Parry Sound in the middle of nowhere ❓
Well it's been a week and they all are thriving under the watchful eyes 👀of the temporary foster care of Marla & Gary. We appreciate you and your expertise in helping this family be caught.
We are convinced that momma Gypsy showed up for help at this home in the forest.
Since they all have been caught, Gypsy has had zero interest in nursing her babies.
She is an amazing momma that kept those babies safe in that forest amongst fishers, owls 🦉, coyotes 🐺and other wildlife that the owner sees daily :(
She did a good job.
She knew she couldn't keep her babies safe forever and knew she wouldn't be able to feed them for much longer.
She's one smart girl..
Gypsy will be spayed and vaccinated in the next few weeks and she will be available for adoption at that time.
She is a friendly purr machine that is soaking up the love, so she definitely belonged to someone.
*Shame on whoever dumped her in the middle of nowhere. The laws for animal abandonment need to start being enforced ‼️
We need to move the 5 kittens : Oakley, Aspen, Forest, Fern and Sage by SEPTEMBER 15.
*They are approximately 6-7 weeks old right now and a foster commitment is needed for the next 10 weeks.
To apply to foster the 5 kittens or adopt momma Gypsy here is the link 👇
https://forms.gle/xGJtLaSiZnSDAxfV9
*They are currently located in Whitestone (just outside of Parry Sound)

✔️spayed
✔️and vaccinated
✔️and READY for her forever home 🏡
*See Matcha's full profile in picture #1 of this post 👇
She has been fostered with Mocha, Espresso and Java - all black siblings 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛ Kittens that are also neutered & vaccinated and ready to go to their forever homes 🏡.
Matcha was an addition afterwards that fit right in with the boys 🤷and is called the "queen bee 🐝"
Thank you 🙏🏿 Steph Hargrave for doing such a fantastic job with this crew ! Because of you saying "yes" to fostering we were able to say yes to taking them in under our care. Because of you saying "yes" to fostering, the cycle stops 🛑 dead in its track right now..atcha and her "brothers" will not be stats and procreating more cats 🐈⬛.
Matcha is also well socialized and loves people, kids and dogs !!!!
Adoption fee is $300

🚨FOSTER / FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME 🏡 NEEDED ASAP🚨
MEET GRIFFIN
About Griffin:
✔️Male Rottweiler
✔️Neutered & up to date on vaccines
✔️Gets along with other dogs (proper introductions required as we'd always recommend with ANY dog)
✔️3.5 years old
✔️Thinks he's a lap dog
✔️Loves the boat 🛥️& car 🚗 rides
✔️Good with people-see comments below
✔️Walks excellent on a leash
✔️Weighing in around 115-120 pounds - he's a big guy ‼️
We are looking for someone with Rottweiler experience that KNOWS THE BREED.
We are going to be 100% transparent 👇
Griffin is a Rottie that was put in a bad situation and now he's paying the price. Griffin is a family dog that went with his family everywhere. He does well with people when they are out and about and in his home when the cues are given by his owner that the people entering are "safe people"
Rotties are protective of their homes and that is their JOB.
The owner of Griffin runs their business from their home property in a separate building on the grounds. A worker came to work extra early one morning - it was unannounced and the owners didn't know that their worker was coming in early that day either. Griffin was on the grounds and he bit the worker. There were no cues from the owners that it was a "safe" person because the owners were not outside. Unfortunately Griffin was put in a bad position as was the worker.
It was a "bite and release"- Griffin now has a bite record.
Griffin has been with Dan Buenaventura the owner and operator of DB CANINE WORKS.
Dan travels frequently across Ontario giving seminars on reactive dogs and dog aggression.
Dan has fully assessed Griffin (4 months)
Griffin is not an aggressive dog. It was a bad situation that Griffin was put in.
Griffin has been put through all kinds of exercises and situations in order for Dan to come up with that analysis. Griffin has been with Dan for 4 months now. Griffin has also spent some time with a trainer/kennel owner named Emily who also when Dan had to travel for work.
Griffin plays with Dan's personal dogs as well as Emily's Chihuahua 🤷. He is described as a big goofy dog.
As dog owners it is up to us to KNOW the breed of our dog. KNOW what their natural instincts are and what the jobs that they were bred to do. It's our responsibility not 🚫 to put our dogs in situations that could potentially be bad. Also accidents and misjudgements can happen and that's why they are called accidents 😭
We are not trying to downplay the fact that Griffin bit- of course we don't want any dog to bite but the reality is that ALL dogs can bite when put in situations.
Right now GRIFFIN is at a crossroads.
He is not allowed to go back to his home because the owner feels that is best for their business.
Griffin can not 🚫 stay indefinitely at a board and train especially when he doesn't need anymore training. The only reason he's been there so long is because the owner doesn't know what else to do with Griffin. Dan and Emily have been looking through their networks for a home for Griffin but have not been successful.
⚠️EUTHANASIA is on the table⚠️
This dog does not 🚫 deserve that.
For anyone interested in GRIFFIN , we will give you full access to speak with Dan and Emily about Griffin - we have spoken with both extensively BEFORE the decision was made to try and help.
This decision to help was not taken lightly.
He's a good dog that didn't deserve to be put in that situation.
Dan and Emily have both been advocating for this dog.
*There are videos 🎥 that will be posted in our stories of Griffin with Dan & Emily*
We are on a tight timeline ⏰ and we've been given two weeks to find Griffin proper placement.
If you can foster or foster to adopt Griffin please apply at :
https://forms.gle/xGJtLaSiZnSDAxfV9
****PLEASE EMAIL US with your specific questions - we do not correspond through Facebook.
