Twin CAT 3208 435 hp engines in a Sea Ray 440. Port engine was running hot.

We removed and flushed the heat exchangers and aftercoolers on both engines. We also replaced the seawater pump impellers, thermostats, and zinc anodes.

Sea trials were performed after the work. Both engines held at 188°F under load and stayed where they should.

CAT 3126 misfiring and surging is common on these MUI (Mechanical Unit Injector) engines.

These issues can be caused by sticking fuel racks, faulty injectors, leaking injector cups, fuel system check valves, or air entering the fuel system.

We have the specialty tooling for proper injector installation, synchronization, timing, and fuel setting on 3114, 3116, and 3126 MUI engines. We can also remove and install new injector cups, or machine the old ones for reuse when possible.

Back at DAC Industrial where it all began!

The technicians there were busy on the road, so we were called in to replace the rear main seal on a DEUTZ TCD 2013 L04 in this SAFEAERO 220 de-icer truck. It was a tight spot to work in after separating the auxiliary hydraulic pump from the engine.

Appreciated the call from a previous employer and the opportunity to work alongside some familiar faces again.

Cummins 6CTA8.3 overhaul we completed a couple of years ago — still running strong for our customer.

We also replaced the output shaft seal in the reduction gear. These older engines can keep going for a long time when they’re done right.

This Volvo rock truck suddenly started blowing heavy white smoke. We found a sheared bolt in the injection pump drive coupling that had thrown the engine out of time. We repaired the coupling, got the timing sorted, and got it running clean again for the customer.

30‑litre Mitsubishi S6R2 engine swap for Marine Atlantic’s MV Leif Ericson.

Stage one of this project is now complete. We removed one of the emergency generator engines and installed the spare engine back into service aboard the vessel.

The removed engine has been transported to our shop, where it will undergo a complete overhaul before being delivered back to Sydney as the new spare unit.
