Principle #2: Self determination: to make decisions about issues that affect their life, their services and to experience a life with autonomy and control. Principle #4: Be in and of a community and experience citizenship without the barriers imposed by the labels that have been assigned. Principle #5: Information about their rights, opportunities and issues that affect them. Principle #6: Be respected for who they are and their unique qualities, contributions and capacities they have to offer. Principle #7: Access to support to maintain or improve their physical, emotional and material well being. Principle #8: Determine with whom and where they live. Principle #9: An effective system of support to live a good life. This support is based on the person’s strengths and not their deficits. We all bring something different to the table.

An inclusive workplace makes space for everyone and recognizes people's needs, strengths and ways of contributing.

There's value in every person.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to work, contribute, and build a life they are proud of.

When we create inclusive workspaces, we create opportunities for people to share their talents, pursue their goals, and contribute in meaningful ways.

September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Month, and September 9th is FASD Awareness Day.

The 9th day of the 9th month represents the nine months of pregnancy. We took to the streets to ask people what they know about FASD.

Let’s keep the conversation going, reduce stigma, and share knowledge that can make a difference.
