We're hiring a Community Host at The Common. 🙌

If you're a person who loves people, takes pride in their environment, and wants to be part of something being built in Squamish, this one's for you.

WHAT THE ROLE IS: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-12:30pm. You're the first face people see. You keep the space welcoming, help new members get settled, handle light admin, and support our events and community initiatives. You work closely with the operations team and you're genuinely part of building something here.

WHAT YOU GET: $25/hr, ~15-20 hrs/week to start. Full access to the space and all events. Exposure to AI tools, modern business operations, and one of Squamish's best professional networks. Room to grow as the business grows.

IDEAL FOR: Someone who is passionate about community and wants work that genuinely matters. Have your own projects on the side? The space is yours to use too.

Join myself, the founder of The Common and some friends on a journey into positive psychology - aka happiness. Study together, learn a new skill and become happier - hopefully :)

Starting September 1st I'm taking an an online courses (I hope the first of many) run by the University of Berkley.

Created by UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center, the course will zero in on a fundamental finding from positive psychology: that happiness is inextricably linked to having strong social connections and contributing to something bigger than yourself--the greater good. Students will learn about the cross-disciplinary research supporting this view, spanning the fields of psychology, neuroscience, evolutionary biology, and beyond.

The course is free, although I'm paying to earn credits and take an exam. Commitment is 4-5 hours per week.

I've started a What'sApp group, and I also run The Common, so the goal is to have weekly study group and online check-in's. Maybe a celebration in November when you finish.
