Your precious pupper will become our new best friend and experience the canine holiday of a lifetime, surrounded by nature and exciting outdoor adventures. Val Ferret

Found a nice road 🛣️, quite large and away from humans and humans with dogs. Hiked up to a bridge and a stream and all the way back down. About 10km and on an easy road.

On the way down, ran into a flock of sheep (see photo) We waited an hour for them to pass but they were lingering. My dogs caught my tone, and sensed that they had to behave. Local shepherd was useless in helping out (Swiss customer service?), but his collies did a good job of moving these ladies along! Bravo collies!

Note that there were NO sheep on the way up otherwise we would not have gone near that area!

Life in the Valais brings some cow, donkey, sheep and goat encounters and quite frankly some trauma for me (been chased by a herd of goats in Verbier on a mountain top!)

Heidi is definitely not my fav story!

Lovely walk though!

The power of routine (and mantras!)

The school holidays are the busiest times of the year. My secret key 🔑 to surviving and thriving during these periods: Routine

Never underestimate the power of routine!

7:00 - Wake up and breakfast
8:00 - 12:00 Walkies
12:00-15:00 - siesta (humans too)
15:00-17:00 - walkies
17:00-18:00 chill, play
18:00 - A brisk walk around the dam
18:30 - dinner
18:45-20:45: chill time, cuddles and play, doggy TV or Mantras!
20:45 - last p*e
21:00 - bed!

And yes, Im in bed by 21:00 too!
One thing I’ve learnt in the last five years, if you don’t abide by the same routine as your dog guests, you will tire yourself out!

Routine saves my day. Teamwork takes the stress away!

Happy autumn 🍂 holidays!
