Täna andis Ülle Madise ametivande ja Teie viis aastat Kadriorus täitusid. Suur aitäh nende aastate eest! 🇪🇪

Teie kalendris peaks homsest olema aga tunduvalt rohkem vaba ruumi, seega julgeme välja pakkuda ühe karjääripöörde.

CV on juba praegu aukartustäratav - geneetik, ülikoolirektor, muuseumijuht, riigipea. Puudu on aga üks rida – AI ajastu tooteinsener.

Kes on juhtinud startupi nimega Eesti, saab tooteinseneri tööga kindlasti hakkama. Tee kood/Jõhvisse on ka juba selge.

Hea uudis on see, et kandideerimisel ei ole vaja anda ametivannet ega koguda kahte kolmandikku riigikogu häältest.

“Can this person build?” used to be the question companies asked about a junior developer. Now it’s “Can this person contribute?” 💼

That shift is why //kood rebuilt its curriculum this year, our third major update in five years. Before changing anything, we spent months talking with recruiters, engineering managers and our own alumni about who actually gets hired today, and why.

The new curriculum has three layers:
🛠️ Technical skills and product thinking – building real products for real users, and asking who it’s for and whether it works
🤝 Professional posture – communication, ownership, asking the right questions
🤖 AI literacy – using AI with judgement, because engineers who avoid it fall behind and those who over-rely on it get outcompeted

It works. Of our 500+ main-programme graduates, 66% are employed, and 83% of those work in tech roles, across 190 different companies.

At Digit Conference 2026 in Tartu, Karmen Tigas from //kood takes this to the stage in her keynote “Skills no one talks about, but everyone hires for”.

🟥 25 women from Ida-Virumaa are writing their first lines of code at kood/Jõhvi this week. Day 2 started with standups. 💻

🗓️ The kood/Empower bootcamp runs 6–9 October: programming basics, the many roles in tech and first digital solutions of their own. No teachers at the front of the room – everyone learns by doing and from each other.

💬 “Overcoming your fears matters even more than building technical skills,” says bootcamp lead Kätlin Merisalu.

🚀 Next up: the Empowering Women hackathon, 16–18 October at kood/Jõhvi. From idea to prototype in 48 hours – free, accommodation included, no prior IT experience needed. Come solo or bring a team!

Selline võimalus ei ole tavaliselt tasuta. Neli päeva päris koodimist koos juhendajatega, lisaks majutus, lõunad ja üks õhtusöök, ja see kõik on tasuta kood/Jõhvi suures õppekeskuses.

5️⃣For the kood5 birthday our test run for a new batch of students popped up in… Tallinn!
🧑‍💻Today the students are presenting their group work to pack together all the tech knowledge they gained over the past 3 weeks - and then comes the decision if they’ll be accepted to the program - AI Ready Product Engineer.
😎All who made it this far definitely passed the vibe check - such awesome bunch plus the Tallinna Ettevõtlusinkubaator venue was great!
Later all accepted students have a chance to pick either kood/Järva, kood/Jõhvi or kood/Võru as their preferred home base.

Üks aasta kood/Võrut 💙🎂

Reedel saime Võru linna pangahoones kokku, et tähistada kood/Võru esimest sünnipäeva. Aitäh kõigile, kes tulid — ilma külalisteta poleks ka pidu.

Mängisime ka Kahooti //kood-i faktide peale. Need panid kõige rohkem kukalt kratsima - vaata, kas teadsid:

→ kood/Võru avati 13. septembril 2025.
→ Õppijate keskmine vanus 32 — enamik karjääripöörajad.
→ Meil ei ole õpetajaid. Õpitakse üksteiselt ja päris projektide kaudu.
→ Maja ehitati 1938. aastal pangaks. Kaks bareljeefi fassaadil on tänaseni alles.
→ Võru linn valis kood/Võru 2025. aasta teoks.

Ja kui piltidelt paistab, et pool saali on telefonis — nii oligi. See oli Kahoot. Ainus pidu, kus see on täiesti lubatud 📱
