Meet Rihards’ parents, Rita and Uģis, the owners of the house at Amālijas Street 5a. Rita’s great-grandfather came to Riga more than 100 years ago. He bought a plot of land and built a house there.
From 2004 to 2008, Inta Ruka documented life at Amālijas iela 5a – just minutes from Riga city centre, yet existing as its own small universe.

Through wordplay – from the self to the elf – Karl Ketamo transforms the elf into a symbol of the inner voice that interrupts growth, fuels self-doubt, and keeps us stuck in familiar patterns.
What begins as "Elf Sabotage" becomes an exploration of self-growth, self-abandonment, and the ongoing dialogue between the artist and his alter ego, Crybaby87.
