Lithuania's profile in international tourism shines even brighter

At the European Hotel Awards ceremony in Italy, Lidija Lukšytė, Adviser to the Tourism and Resorts Development Division at the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, was presented with the European Tourism Governance Award 2026.

Lidija was recognised for her many years of work in the tourism sector, the strengthening of international cooperation, her representation in international tourism organisations, and her ability to bring people and institutions together around shared objectives.

This accolade also highlights the contribution of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation and the wider Lithuanian tourism community in raising the country's profile and creating new opportunities for tourism businesses. This year, the Ministry allocated 3.93 million euros for conference tourism in central and western Lithuania, and 70,000 euros for promoting Lithuania at international exhibitions and business events.

We are also developing gastronomic tourism: together with the gastronomy and tourism community, we are drafting the first national gastronomic tourism strategy, and in 2027, the Lithuanian team will compete for the first time in the grand finale of the Bocuse d'Or, one of the world's most prestigious culinary contests.

We are also making diligent preparations for Lithuania's presidency of the Council of the EU in 2027, which will feature an event dedicated to tourism.

Congratulations to Lidija, and thank you to everyone contributing to the promotion of Lithuanian tourism

Lietuvos vardas tarptautinio turizmo erdvėje – dar ryškesnis 💫

Italijoje vykusioje „European Hotel Awards“ ceremonijoje Ekonomikos ir inovacijų ministerijos Turizmo ir kurortų plėtros skyriaus patarėjai Lidija Lukšytė įteiktas „European Tourism Governance Award 2026“ apdovanojimas. 🏆

Lietuvos komanda pirmą kartą varžysis vieno prestižiškiausių pasaulio gastronomijos konkursų „Bocuse d’Or“ didžiajame finale.
