Corner Lane Curiosities
I love to sew pretty items for children and the home, largely inspired by my own children.
After years of creating at Corner Lane Designs, I’m now opening the door to my other passion of sourcing repairing and giving new life to items.Join me at Corner Lane Curiosities as I share a curated collection of antiques, vintage gems and collectables. I am a work from home mum and the majority of my work is sold on-line but I also make a lot of customised orders for people so please contact me if you are looking for something special - I may be able to help!

You know I mentioned this fabulous military gent in a previous post and I wasn't sure if anyone would want him on their wall....well today I've had 2 interested offers on eBay!! One from the USA. You just never know what will interest people.
Just a couple of sales going out today ❤️

What has been selling for me over the past week on Vinted? Here are a few of my favourites:
I've sold 2 lampshades, that beaded glass 70s one was an absolute stunner. Capiz shell lampshades are always popular too so I will always pick them up when I see them. Wooden home decor items, 70s kitchenalia and of course Christmas!!
Now I'm hoping to be more productive today than I was yesterday!!
Sunday morning I managed to dash around our local car boot. It's quieter now but there were still plenty of stalls there, just not selling things I wanted. It was great for people looking for kids stuff!! So these are the few items I did pick up....

3 beautiful long stitched tapestry pictures finally listed today. These have been sat in my "to do" pile for about 6 weeks 🙈
Framed in 1991 (professional framing stickers still on the back). I hope that someone will give these a new home and love them for many years to come. The work that has gone into them must have taken hours and hours!!
Which is your favourite?

I went to the local auction last night and bought quite a few things. All in all I won 7 lots, albeit 2 of them by mistake!! That's another story 🤣🤣
One item I got (not by mistake) was a box of vintage kitchenalia. I'm still going through everything in the box but here are a few of the items in there. How about that gorgeous bright yellow melaware salad bowl?!?! Love it!! Loads more to clean and photograph yet - it was a brilliant box full!!
I also bought quite a lot of paintings and original etchings so more posts to come!

On Sunday I managed to make it to a car boot sale. First one since early September when I was up in Scotland. My life means I am normally in some sailing club or another at the weekends!
It was quiet, but I found a few little bits and pieces of treasure. That gorgeous handmade magnolia cushion has already gone, I've cleaned and wax polished the wood on the peg rack and think that may be staying with me! The rest I have washed, cleaned and they are now listed for sale. I hope I have picked some pieces that someone out there will truly love to give a new home to ❤️

What's selling now the season is changing....
Looking at these sales, people are looking for warm and cosy homewares; warm wooden tones, big casserole pots, book ends and of course planning ahead for Christmas - I advertised that tablecloth as being great over the top of a plain red one for a christmassy dinner table 😁.
What's selling for you right now?

A few of my Vinted "Solds" since the last post. A few of these came from that large FB marketplace bundle I mentioned before and have been a real joy to clean and photograph. Will do another post soon with some more.

September ended with these sales. I was so tempted to keep the swallows, they looked fab on my navy wall.
The 2 wall plaques were from a huge bundle off FB Marketplace. I mean my car boot and back seat were full. All sorts of vintage bits and pieces and such a lovely lady selling them. We had a good chat about reselling.
The tealight castle/fantasy studio pottery piece was another item from the box I bought from Auction last week (the one where the man told me I must be blind....). So far that £2 box has made me £30 in sales.
Finally the 70s ugly mug. I've had this a while so won't be buying it again if I ever see it.
