Are you expecting too much of yourself?

Swipe through for three signs that you might be asking more of yourself than is fair for you and your horse right now.

Wanting to improve is a good thing. But would you expect the same of another rider with your time, preparation and circumstances?

Give yourself that same consideration 🤍

Save this for the next time you’re giving yourself a hard time.

What would you like to achieve with your riding this winter?

Perhaps there’s a goal you keep coming back to, but you’re not sure how to get there. Or you know what you need to do, but the doubts start before you’ve even given yourself a chance.

I’d like your input on what we talk about here over the coming months. Setting targets, working through limiting beliefs or understanding what gets in the way of your progress.

What would be useful to you? đź’¬

Tell me one thing you’d like support with. It doesn’t matter what level you ride at. If it matters to you, I’d like to hear it.

🛑🛑Unpopular opinion 🛑🛑

It’s the time of year when people start to make “goals” talk about failure and head towards that winter down.

The thing about results and outcomes is this, the GOAL is the smallest part of the process. The KEY player is the habits we make, the daily rituals that keep us in the right place.
If they are wrong - the goal is way off target 🎯
Being up front about our less that ideal habits is the first step towards achieving that Goal 🥅

Riders tend to be far more disciplined with their horses that with themselves.

What is your most irritating Habit?

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the Mums, riders, trainers, grooms, coaches, farriers, vets, physios, owners, breeders, Pr machines and everyone else who endures these symptoms.

This is one of the very obvious ways that equestrian sport is totally unique as our tougher that tough ladies compete, work alongside side and stand aside men in every role and podium.

I see you - I salute you 🌟🌟🌟

But as an industry we need to be better at supporting us ❤️💎❤️

“That got heavy real quick “

It’s that time of year that can hit like a tidal wave. The promise and goals of summer are over and the impending dark nights, mud and intrusive thoughts dominate.

Trying to be constantly positive actually doesn’t help, it only makes you feel like that’s another thing you can’t achieve. But switching our focus does, drilling down on what we need to do to make change and keeping healthy along the way. Without asking unreasonable demands on our physical or mental wellbeing.
Horses never stop, they have no pause but they do rest - do you ?

Precious wondering just what you have to accomplish to reach portrait status!

Are you a printed photo, abstract, brush stroke or memory collector.

I always admire homes where collections of perfectly framed memories decorate space .

I believe what’s on our walls can we a great insight in to our minds and the way we think and learn.

It’s no surprise that mine won’t stay still long enough for the picture!

Hmmmm - if the cap ( or cat ) fits !
