Did you know Opal is October’s birthstone ✨💎🌈
For thousands of years, human civilisations have considered Opal a lucky gemstone, however when you talk to many crystal enthusiasts many believe it is unlucky. So where has this belief come from? In 1892 Sir Walter Scott published a book in which a character owned an Opal pendant that ultimately caused her demise, this began a rumour that Opal was unlucky and this is something we can still see persisting today! Queen Victoria was a massive fan of the crystal and often gifted it to friends and loved ones which helped restore some of its reputation but it’s still something we here people say often in the shop
