Troon Coastal Rowing Club
Troon Coastal Rowing Club (SC053973) built and row St Ayles Skiffs "Marr Voyager" , "Ailsa Lass" and “Marjorie Jeffrey”.
Troon Coastal Rowing Club was formed after a generous donation by Mr Boyd Tunnock allowed the purchase of a St Ayles Skiff kit from Jordan Boats of Fife as part of the Scottish Coastal Rowing initiative ( For more information see www.scottishcoastalrowing.org ). Our first skiff, Marr Voyager was built over the summer of 2011 in a boat shed at Troon Marina by a team of dedicated volunteers ably assisted by a group of school pupils taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. In 2012 the club plans to recruit more members from the local area and construct our second St Ayles Skiff. We are always happy to welcome new people who would like to try coastal rowing or who would like to help build our next boat or both ! For more information visit our website or send us an e-mail.

Thanks to North Berwick Rowing Club for a great day at yesterday’s regatta. We had a fabulous time and taking home some medals was a bonus. Thanks also to Sharon and Caroline for being adopted Troonies. This is one of our favourite regattas and we look forward to it every year. What a weekend that was at Skiffie Festival 2026. It was like Avengers Assemble but in Northern Ireland 😍 Thanks to Down Coastal Rowing Association for a great event. Our very own superheroes from Troon Coastal Rowing Club even bagged a set of bronze medals in the 60+ Mixed event. Thanks to all the fabulous clubs who participated and made us so welcome. You are all awesome. It was great to see 3 of the TCRC fleet on the water last week enjoying the summer solstice. Rumours of 3 boats of druids in ceremonial robes are greatly exaggerated! 😎 The evening row to Lady Isle did NOT involve them dancing around the lighthouse chanting”Timing Timing Timing”. Honest 😶 Absolutely NO coxes were sacrificed for missing buoy turns or “piloting” them the wrong way 😉 Despite these legal restrictions, It was still a fun club night though. Hope you loved Troon too. SCRA - South West Scottish Coastal Rowing Association - SCRA Troon Development Trust Geo Gr
