All Star Heating

Our stove logs are going into Aldi this Sunday! But first, a thank you.

It was the local hardware shops, fuel yards, filling stations and co-ops that took a chance on a small Mayo family business. They're the reason we're here.

The Aldi Specialbuy lands Sunday 1st November, and it's a one-off! 🪵 Once it's gone, it's gone.

Your local isn't going anywhere, though. They'll keep you stocked up all winter long 📍

How to light a stove with kindling and firelighters, the easy way 🔥

𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝟮: some of us are naturals with kindling, and some of us… aren't 😅 Here's James' go-to method:

1️⃣ Make a nice bed of kindling
2️⃣ Add two individually wrapped firelighters
3️⃣ Snap one stove log in two and lay it on top
4️⃣ Light the firelighters and open the damper fully

Our firelighters are individually wrapped, so you just light the wrapper. No touching the cube, and they stay dry in the box.

We asked one of our regulars outside Little Sam's in Claremorris what he thinks of our stove logs:

"I absolutely love them" 🧡
🔥 A lot of heat
🌿 Very little ash
🏡 Home from work, a match to them, and away you go

He'd light the stove even in summer, and Mark in Little Sam's can vouch he's always buying them 😉

Bonus: he's known James since he was "that high".

From a Claremorris dairy farm to your stove: meet our co-founder James 🔥

He grew up in a busy house of 10 on Claremorris Dairies, where the family pasteurised and packaged their own milk. 🐄

Engineering took him to Australia, where he met Janet (as good as any engineer he's worked with, he says 😉).

Back home, with peat briquettes on the way out, Janet's dad set them a challenge: find something to replace them.

Our rule to this day: put quality in, get quality (and burn time) out. Spoken like a true engineer 🪵

Our co-founder Janet grew up surrounded by fireplaces 🔥

Her dad, a carpenter, started fitting and making fireplaces from their home in Glasson, just outside Athlone. The doorbell would ring mid-dinner, and up they’d get to serve whoever was in the showroom 😅

Then came business and HR, a move to Perth, and meeting James (she interviewed him for his job 😉).

Back home, Janet and James had their first baby: All Star. The idea, sparked with her dad, was a stove fuel that isn’t fossil fuel, won’t wreck your stove, and gives genuinely good heat 🧡

Smoky room or black stove glass? Check your damper 😅

Hot Tips, Episode 1: James on your stove's main air supply 🔥

✅ Open it fully when you're lighting, so the smoke goes up and out, not into your room
✅ Once it's going, halfway is James' rule of thumb
🚫 Never shut it off completely. It smothers the fire and blackens your glass and bricks

Give your fire air, and it'll give you the heat.
