Midleton CBS Secondary School Hurling

A wonderful day today for our TY Future Leaders Class of 2025/2026.

We were delighted to travel to Croke Park to collect our Gold School award for our students work and participation in Future Leaders during transition year from the GAA & Oide. Our TY students were represented on the day by Colm Smiddy, Conor Leahy, David Murphy & Eoghan Donovan. The lads were presented with their award by Uachtarán CLG, Jarlath Burns & Oide managing director Dr. Pádraig Kirk. This was a huge honour for our students and school as a whole and we couldn’t be prouder of our transition year class of 2025/2026 for this brilliant achievement.

Well done to all involved and thanks to Oide & the GAA for hosting a fantastic awards ceremony.

Midleton CBS Camp 2026

A huge thank you to all the 5th and 6th class boys who participated in the Midleton CBS Camp this year. It was a great success again, and we hope they all enjoyed themselves.

We were delighted to welcome Declan Dalton & Ger Millerick, Cork Senior Hurlers as well as Kieran Archer & Darragh O'Sullivan, who were part of Cork's All Ireland winning Minor Football team. All four players spoke to the boys about their experiences representing Cork and also answered some questions from the group.

A special thanks to the teachers and students who volunteered their time to make the camp a success, and to Hurleys SuperValu Midleton for providing refreshments and treats through the camp.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!🔴⚪

On Monday, we have 2 hurling teams in action in a double header in Rathcormac.

Up first, our U15B team face St. Colmans College Fermoy in the Thomas MacDonagh Final at 11:30am.

This is followed by our U14 team who also face St. Colmans College Fermoy at 1pm in the Cork Colleges Final

On Friday, we were delighted to welcome past pupil and All Star hurler Ciarán Joyce to Midleton CBS to present medals to our victorious U16 Hurling and Football teams.

This year, our U16 teams won both the hurling and football Cork Colleges Championships in the same year for the first time since 2003 which highlights the scale of their achievement.

A truely unique and special Midleton CBS GAA double celebration for our students. Well done lads! 🔴⚪️
