We are writing this letter as born Caymanians and business owners to let everyone know what injustice is taking place on our beloved Cayman. Our family has leased and operated Heritage Kitchen Restaurant since 2011 and are now on the brink of going out of business due to a MASSIVE construction project taking place directly connected to us, demolition and reconstruction will definitely affect us gravely. By law in the Cayman Islands registered land owners should be notified in the vicinity of any construction project especially one of this magnitude with ample time to make certain arrangements. We have received NO NOTIFICATION whatsoever from any government or private entity until October 14th .We only realized it was approved when it was announced on Social Media 1 week prior to the registered land owners receiving an actual notification. A few months ago the Sands Condominiums, which is a couple hundred meters away affected us badly to the point where we had to close several days due to blocking of the road, water supply being cut, electricity being cut off for several hours with yet again no notification. That project was several hundred meters away now imagine what a calamity this would be for us with this new project being literally surrounding our location. We have spent all these years building a local and international reputation as one of the best local restaurants on island and have several employees who's family depend on us being able to operate. All of our seating has always been outdoors and we will definitely not be able to operate ALLOT of days with such a big project taking place. I call to our MPs and Community to spread the word of what our beautiful Cayman Islands 🇰🇾 have turned into. This is unfair and should be UNCONSTITUTIONAL IN A 1ST WORLD COUNTRY.....PLEASE, IS THERE ANYONE THAT CAN HELP, SHARE THIS PLEASE🙏🙌
