Annette Bull Pottery

Into some porcelain for a change. Amazingly delicious to throw, but stretching my patience adding parts and finishing. Hoping to have finished for Hawke’s Bay Arts Trail in November. Its a bit tight!!!

Grateful to have my work “Still Life in Green” selected as a finalist in Pushing Clay Forsyth Barr Contemporary Ceramics Award at Tāwera - Your Art Space Gallery in Nelson. The exhibition on from today til 24th October and is part of Nelson Clay Week Check it out if you are in Nelson.
Congratulations to the winners, and thank-you to all involved.

Recent work. The tall slender silhouette worked well between other jugs in the kiln. The edges catching some ash on the way past.

Huge thanks to Ceramics Association of New Zealand (Inc.) and Mark Anderson for featuring and writing the article about me in the Spring issue of the Ceramics NZ magazine. Very grateful❤️.

Figuring out how the work fits together in the kiln, and what gaps there are so I can make work for the gaps. Nearly there!!!

Handles and spout.

Trying to hurry drying for a bisque firing tomorrow. I usually love a slow dry in winter especially with these tricky handles, but sometimes a push is needed. Holding my breath!
Thanks Max Bull-Crossan with my camera😍

Big jugs The BigRoom Hastings.

Thank you for the invite and giving me the inspiration to make some bigger work. Always interesting to extend scale, even though winter drying time a bit traumatic!

Big ( ish) yellow jug. I’m still loving yellow, even though winter damps it down a little.
Warms me up.

Even with the best intentions I missed photographing the construction process. Something I am trying to do more of. Next time!
Jug ready for a slow dry.
