Full-service multi-site experts trusted nationwide since 1972, delivering restaurant, retail, and franchise programs. AR99238 | CA 8660 Lauderdale.
Interplan LLC is a full service A/E firm offering a full range of services all in house. The firm is dedicated to providing total solutions for national and local corporate/franchise programs for the restaurant, retail, hospitality and commercial industries. Interplan works with companies of all sizes, providing new design, renovation, conversion, and specialty services. The firm is licensed in 50 states and has regional offices in Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, and Orlando with site development offices in Las Vegas, Philadelphia, and Ft. The firm’s primary focus has been to provide solutions that will best serve the customer to achieve long-term real estate goals in a development environment that continues to grow more complex and challenging over time. This has been largely accomplished by maintaining an accelerated schedule as a result of having a comprehensive range of services under one roof which enables the client to complete the permitting process in the shortest time frame and most cost efficient manner possible. Interplan prides itself on being one of the few design firms in the country that offers this expansive approach to delivery of in-house services.
Halloween came a few days early for our site survey crew. Same routine as always: walk the space, photograph everything, measure twice. The only problem is the space never ended.
Honestly, it's not that far off from a normal site visit. The storefront on the drawings is from three tenants ago.. Walls get moved and nobody writes it down. Ceiling grids hide things you only find with a flashlight and some patience. That's why we keep showing up in person, from the first walkthrough to opening day.
We did eventually find the exit. We think.
Happy Halloween from Interplan.
POV: you show up to your new job and everyone's wearing sunglasses indoors. ️
Meet Jade Gregory , our Marketing Coordinator! 👋
She walked in on day one not totally sure what Interplan was about and in her first week got dropped right into the middle of a shoot. Confusing? A little. But she was all in.
Since then, she's learned that no two days in marketing look the same. One of her favorite adventures so far was our Women in Engineering campaign, a full-on fashion shoot with six of our engineers.
Her advice for anyone new here: "Be curious. Ask a lot of questions. There's no such thing as too many questions."
And when we asked her to describe her week in emojis, here's what she said:
😅 🔥🔥🔥 🤔 😬
Thanks for everything you bring to the team, Jade!

“You can’t be such a futurist because you’re going to leave a lot of those loyalists behind.”
So when Patrick Ringlever asked what the last five years have looked like, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill CEO Patrick Fore talked about the balancing act of evolving a brand people already love.
“You can’t go changing everything because you’re going to lose those heritage guests...”
They still found room to get creative with the menu. But there’s one lesson he’s carried with him the whole way.
“Don’t go too far into the future.”
From Behind the Build with Patrick Ringlever, CEO of Interplan.

The best corner in town can still make a terrible restaurant.
Patrick Fore would know. He helped grow Tijuana Flats, and now he’s CEO of Lime Fresh Mexican Grill .
His new rule: never fall in love with the real estate. If the building can’t carry the HVAC, the make-up air, and everything else a kitchen needs, great visibility won’t save it.
He’s just as picky about people. Lime Fresh is looking for franchise partners, and to him that’s a very different thing from an owner.
“Franchising gets written about like buying a car... you have to square the difference between a transaction and a relationship.”
Three years from now, he’ll measure success in guests.
“It’s probably not a number... I know that I’d want our guests to love Lime Fresh more than they do right now.”
Swipe for the full conversation with Patrick Ringlever 👉
“Fresh has to be directly in the main view of every fast casual restaurant. It’s no longer an option.”
Lime Fresh Mexican Grill runs its kitchens without microwaves or freezers. How does an all-fresh kitchen hold up once you start scaling? CEO Patrick Fore gets honest about what that actually costs as the brand gets ready to grow.
Does fresh mean pricier labor, closer eyes on produce, and a little more cost to run the place? He doesn’t dodge any of it.
“We firmly planted that flag. We know exactly where the future is.”
Behind the Build is hosted by Patrick Ringlever, CEO of Interplan, the architecture, engineering, and permitting firm behind multi-site programs nationwide.

What does a general contractor wish architects and engineers knew?
We asked John Stege of Stansell Construction at our latest fireside chat with CEO Patrick Ringlever. He’s a former 23-year McDonald’s operator who now builds restaurants across the Southeast, so he’s seen projects from both sides.
Coordinate the sheets. Don’t skip the pre-bid. Be honest with everyone involved, especially when plans change.
John, thank you for making the trip and for being such a great partner to our team. 🙌
What happens when an operator turned builder sits down with an architecture and engineering team? Real talk.
Thank you to John Stege of Stansell Construction for joining Interplan CEO Patrick Ringlever for our latest fireside chat. After 23 years as a McDonald's operator, John now builds restaurants across the Southeast, and his advice hit home: coordinate the sheets, don't skip the pre-bid, and be honest when plans change.
Grateful for partners who make us better. 🙌

Kinda chic to be on the Development Services team 💅
Saturday real estate deadline? Saved. Seven variance approvals in one night? Done. A project stamped “delayed”? Now it says “delivered.”
Our Development Services team is the group that keeps a new location moving from site to opening day. They work through due diligence, zoning, entitlements, and variances, and they run the calls with landlords, jurisdictions, and brand partners so nothing sits in limbo. When a schedule gets tight, they’re usually the reason it stays on track.
Tiara optional. Results not.
If you’re planning new restaurant or retail locations and want a team that clears the path, let’s talk.
POV the marketing girl visits the Chicago Office.
We asked Joseph Whalen to announce a job opening. He asked if he could leave. 🙃
Here's what he was supposed to tell you: Interplan is hiring an Architectural Project Coordinator at our Lombard, IL office. You'd be working on projects for restaurant and retail brands you probably already eat at, with architecture, permitting, and engineering all under one roof.
What you'd be doing:
🔹 Setting up sheets and drawings in Revit and CAD to Interplan standards
🔹 Reviewing completed work against markups before it goes back to the author
🔹 Plotting drawings to the right scale and format
🔹 Providing drafting support to our Architects, Project Coordinators, and Managers
What we're looking for:
🔹 Bachelor's degree in architecture
🔹 Strong Revit skills
🔹 2+ years in an architectural office preferred; AutoCAD and retail/restaurant experience a plus
Full-time, in-office, with real room to grow. The team really is a lot of fun to work with. And yes, they absolutely make people read cards against their will.
Apply now so Joe doesn't have to film a sequel.
