🎃 Halloween is only a couple days away. Trick-or-treating in Appleton goes from 4 to 8 p.m.

Before the costumes come out and the candy starts flowing, keep these safety tips in mind:

• Use sidewalks and crosswalks whenever possible.
• Look both ways before crossing the street, and make eye contact with drivers.
• Carry a flashlight or use reflective material to help drivers see you.
• Keep costumes and masks from blocking vision or creating a trip hazard.
• Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
• Check treats before eating them and discard anything that looks opened or tampered with.
• Drivers, slow down and expect to see more pedestrians, especially in residential neighborhoods.

Have fun, stay safe, and enjoy the Halloween festivities. 👻
