We took a day to invest in the people who make LATAN's mission real.

Recently, our staff and leadership came together for a full day of training focused on something simple but integral to the work we do: every call is someone's independence.

We grounded the day in LATAN's mission and our specialized, person-centered the HAAT model of care that guides our service delivery — then spent the rest of it on the things that actually show up in daily work: sound judgment, honest communication, using AI tools responsibly without losing our own voice, and connecting our daily activity to the outcomes that matter most to the people we serve.

Grateful for a team that shows up ready to be vulnerable, ask questions, and hold each other to a higher standard — and for leadership that invested a full day to make it happen.

LATAN’s Alternative Financing Services are designed to help Louisiana residents with disabilities access the assistive technology they need through flexible, affordable options.

Our programs include:

🧡 AT Lease Program
Lease eligible assistive technology with zero interest and affordable monthly payments. Traditional leases are available in 6-month periods, and a lease-to-own option lets you spread the cost over 6, 12, 18, or 24 months.

💳 Revolving Loan Fund
Eligible AT users and caregivers may establish a line of credit of up to $10,000 to purchase assistive technology and equipment.

Whether you need a device now, want to spread payments over time, or need help understanding your options, LATAN can help guide you through the process.

Register for LATAN's Assistive Technology Spotlight Series

You are invited to join LATAN for our Assistive Technology Spotlight Series, a virtual series of 30-minute demonstrations highlighting assistive technology that can support independence, communication, safety, and everyday living.

Sessions will be held at 10:30am through September 10, 2026, and will feature a different assistive technology device or solution each week.

• September 10 – ElliQ Social Companion Robot

These sessions offer an opportunity to learn about assistive technology solutions and their practical applications. Attendees will gain a better understanding of available technologies and how they may be used to address a variety of needs across home, school, work and in community.
