LSU Flores MBA Program

Last Friday, Flores MBA and LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business graduate students had the opportunity to stop by Emergent Method, a nationally recognized management consulting firm located right here in Baton Rouge. We are grateful to their team (including some familiar faces) for hosting us!

For recent alum W. Chandler Black ('23), the Flores MBA One-Year proved to be the perfect launchpad for a successful early career.

"[The program] blended real business insights, technical fluency, and the ability to build meaningful professional and personal relationships. The option for the one-year accelerated track ... allowed me to get into the workforce faster, while still gaining all the perks of a high-level, rigorous curriculum."

Global immersion experiences are an important component of the Flores MBA Program, and now our alumni and friends can join in on the action!

We're thrilled to share that the inaugural Ourso Alumni & Friends Abroad itinerary will run partly alongside our own student programming in Spain next spring. This 10-day program is designed to expand your global perspective while also providing several unique opportunities to interact and network with the next generation of Business Tigers.

MBA Launch Week is complete! Say hello to the 2026 LSU Flores MBA Program cohort. 👋

We've had so much fun over the last few days of orientation and are thrilled to welcome this talented group to campus. Now it's time to dive into our first course module and get to work! Be sure to follow the journey ahead here and with the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business.

Day 1: Done! ✅

We had a great time kicking off our 2026 MBA Launch week with some introduction icebreakers and an overview of the journey ahead. A special thank you to our friends and Flores alumni at Emergent Method for stopping by to share valuable career insights.

For our next Flores global immersion experience, we're trading the humid Louisiana summer for a brisk South American winter. ❄️

Our EMBA cohort spent the weekend traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina and exploring their new cultural surroundings. Yesterday featured several business visits to learn more about key elements of Latin America's third-largest economy, including TRF (Transfarmaco SA), a prominent logistics and supply chain firm, and local w**e bar Pain et Vin, host for a discussion on Argentina's thriving w**e industry.

Next stop: Rio de Janeiro!

💠Blair Casey, CEO, Team Gleason
💠David Songy, Chairman & Co-founder, Songy Highroads, LLC
💠Shawna Nelson, CEO, Organic Valley
💠Will Hoppes, Managing Director, Fidelitas Wines

Thank you to each of these leaders for taking the time to share their knowledge and experiences with our students!

We changed things up last week by stepping out of the classroom and into the warehouse. Flores MBA students volunteered for a day of service at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, helping package and prepare essential grocery deliveries.

We are proud of our students for prioritizing community impact alongside their studies; way to lead by example!
