Cuando un niño encuentra una palabra que no conoce, no siempre tenemos que darle inmediatamente la traducción.

Podemos invitarlo a mirar las imágenes, pensar en lo que está sucediendo, hacer preguntas y buscar pistas. Poco a poco, esa palabra deja de ser desconocida y se convierte en algo que descubrió por sí mismo.

Aprender un idioma también es observar, imaginar, preguntar, equivocarse, volver a intentar y descubrir.

Porque cuando permitimos que los niños participen en el significado de las palabras, no solo están aprendiendo español: están desarrollando curiosidad, confianza y amor por aprender.

Cada palabra nueva puede convertirse en una pequeña aventura.

Today is Tuesday Tip Day at Spanish With Meches.

When a child comes across a word they don’t know, we don’t always have to give them the translation right away.

We can invite them to look at the pictures, think about what is happening, ask questions, and search for clues. Little by little, that unfamiliar word becomes something they discovered for themselves.

Learning a language is also about observing, imagining, asking questions, making mistakes, trying again, and discovering.

When we allow children to take part in finding the meaning of words, they’re not only learning Spanish—they’re building curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

Every new word can become a little adventure.
