Bend, Oregon Community - FYI

Hi, my name is Steve Augustyn, and I am one of the owners of Silver Moon. I have three young boys who have all attended Silver Rail, and our youngest is in 4th grade at Silver Rail now. The school and the community have been a part of our lives for many years.

Some of you know me, and some of you may not. If you do know me, you know how much I love and care about this community and the well-being of people from all walks of life. I have always done my best to make sure Silver Moon is a place where everyone feels welcome.

Pubs were created to be gathering places for communities, and that is exactly what I hope we can be. A place where people can come together, support one another, and talk about what they’re feeling, whether it’s good, bad, sad, angry, happy, or anything in between.

This Wednesday, October 21st, I would like to invite you all to the pub to do just that.

100% of all sales and donations, not just the profit, but every dollar spent, will be donated to the families ( or a charity of their choosing) who have experienced loss from this tragedy.

I am doing this intentionally so there is no confusion about my motives. This is not about notoriety, publicity, or financial gain. I’m doing this for myself, for Silver Rail, and for a community that desperately needs a place to come together and support one another.

With love,
Steve & Marissa Augustyn

Team 🦋FFR (under Lazy JWC / Kody Ward) is headed back to the states after a week of fun and intense Canadian Penning and Sorting.

We had a lot of fun at Rocky Mountain Equipment’s event! We rode our behinds off, and even ended up getting a couple of Canadian checks! 🇨🇦
Absolutely none of this would have been feasibly accessible to us without the guidance and support of Kody Ward / Lazy JWC. He has been instrumental in our improvement and success. We are also so proud and thankful for our show horses (3 of 4 are from JWC). They went from intense Finals in Reno, had a few days off, then had a week of showing (3 days of Penning and 3 days of sorting in a row), plus all the travel in between. They gave us their all with tough pushy cows, every day.

This sport can be discouraging at times as it is; but competing in a different country with different riders, cattle, rules and being an “outsider”, is humbling. That being said, we have learned and grown SO much by continuing to push ourselves out of our comfort zone and discouraging rides/shows when we have them.

At this show, almost all classes we competed in had 200-400 teams. The 2nd go was top 30% back clean runs STRAIGHT into the top ten. It went from 75-50 2nd go teams, straight into the top 10. In addition, you have to sort cows in the final round to get a check; they only paid 5 spots in every class. That changed one’s riding strategy quite a bit!😉

We are grateful and thankful for the Canadian warm hospitality and sportsmanship. 🇨🇦

Results:
Deano: 3rd in 6HC;

Bonnie: 4th in 8HC; 3rd in 6 Shootout; 9th in 10HC (but went dirty so no check)
