Broadway Bound Academy

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL COMPANY SHOW in the books 💜💛.

We love seeing our BBA Company grow every year in; students, love, ability, (s), programming, events and even trips to NYC!!

At the heart of our studio are these talented and dedicated individuals who work hard each week to push their own training and put BBAs name on the South Florida map! This group is our calling card and we couldn’t be more proud with every experience.

Congrats on another wonderful night together singing & dancing for all the world to see!!

ITS BREAK THE DRESSCODE WEEK! Everything is always better in a costume 😜 especially ballet… it almost feels “more right” . See you & your alter ego in class!

GROOVE. CONTRAST. ACCENTS.

It’s not just about learning the choreography. It’s about discovering what happens between the counts.

Exploring the foundations of groove theory: focusing on hip articulation, isolations, rhythmic accents, weight shifts, and the intentional use of stillness is important in the development of commercial and contemporary jazz

We’re challenging our dancers to move beyond simply executing steps and begin understanding how to sit in the groove, manipulate musical phrasing, and consider moments of breath and pause as choreo.

Because sometimes the greatest impact comes not from how much you move, but from knowing when to move, when to hold, and how to command the space between.

🎶 THE MUSIC HISTORY

Originally recorded by The Cookies in 1962, “On Broadway” became an R&B classic through The Drifters’ in 1963. George Benson’s 1978 interpretation brought a distinctive jazz-funk groove to the song, while Broadway productions including Smokey Joe’s Cafe and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical introduced its storytelling to new theatrical audiences.
