Demand prompts Prosser to pursue $81M medical center Prosser Memorial Health’s latest $81 million construction project isn’t another hospital, but officials expect it to significantly enhance care for the Prosser community and beyond, much like the hospital that opened less than two years ago.

How can healthcare systems continue to grow and modernize while managing rising construction costs and increasing regulatory demands?

This past Tuesday, AldrichVKP President George Ward moderated a discussion with healthcare leaders and industry specialists at Bisnow’s Pacific Northwest Healthcare Conference.

The conversation explored how health systems and builders are navigating capital projects and campus expansions while balancing costs, ongoing operations, and long-term growth.

In Washington State, the added costs associated with the Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) and regulatory requirements present significant challenges for healthcare providers seeking to expand facilities and enhance patient care.

With the rapidly expanding data center market competing for the same skilled labor, equipment, and materials, time is becoming an increasingly important cost driver. The longer healthcare projects take to move from planning to construction, the greater their exposure to escalating costs and resource constraints.

One opportunity to help manage these costs is speed to market. Bringing healthcare stakeholders, design and construction teams, and permitting authorities together earlier in the process can accelerate decisions, streamline preconstruction, and reduce costly delays.

Project Administrator Kelley Osterholtz retired June 30, 2026. In her 27 years with our firm, Kelley worked with three generations of ownership and supported countless team members in project administration from notice-to-proceed through delivery and closeout. She administered more than 300 construction projects valued at $574 million for at least 80 of our clients.

Beyond the numbers, Kelley was a role model in her consistency to meet the highest standards, and she will forever be weaved into the fabric of our company’s heritage. In her daily interactions and participation in team appreciation events, she helped establish our firm’s culture of building relationships and made lifetime of friendships along the way.

Thank you, Kelley, for your commitment and invaluable contributions to the company. We wish you and your family all the best in this next chapter of your lives. Congratulations!!!
