We love seeing RAP Grants in action!
The Children's Museum of Illinois recently celebrated the grand opening of their new STEM mural, created by Makayla Rogers! Students got to be part of the creative process by solving math problems to help complete this colorful paint-by-number mural. We love seeing art and education come together in such a fun and engaging way!
Thank you to the Illinois Arts Council for supporting our RAP Grants and helping make projects like this possible!

Happy Halloween from the Decatur Area Arts Council!
A little art history for Halloween: Edvard Munch painted The Scream in 1893, creating an image that still captures our attention more than a century later. Art isn’t always about beauty, it can also capture fear, mystery, and the things that give us chills!
From expressive paintings to imaginative costumes and carved pumpkins, there’s plenty of room for creativity in the spooky season. Have a safe and happy Halloween!

The Decatur Area Arts Council is so grateful for Mark and Amy Scranton's extremely generous donation. Their gift is going towards necessary repairs to the Madden Arts Center, which will keep our building safe, strong, and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors.
Donors like the Scrantons are the foundation of what we do. (Yes, pun intended!) Because of their support, DAAC can continue to offer a free gallery space and grant-funded performing arts experiences, which help to enrich the lives of people across our community. Every gift, large or small, helps us keep the arts accessible to all.
Mark and Amy, thank you for believing in our mission and investing in our community. We're so appreciative of you!
Want to join the Scrantons in supporting the arts in Decatur? Visit our website or stop by the gallery to learn how you can help.
