Satterfields' Auto Tech Service

November's here, Decatur. Soon we will have mornings that actually test a weak battery, thick oil, and low tire pressure all at once.

We've been getting Decatur through winter since 1975. If your car's been getting by on borrowed time, now's the window to catch it before the hardest cold snaps arrive.

🚗 Hello, November!

Cooler mornings and holiday travel are right around the corner. November is a great time to give your vehicle a little attention and make sure you’re ready for the miles ahead.

Wishing everyone safe travels and a great month!

🎃 Happy Halloween from Satterfield's Auto Tech Service!

One more safety note before tonight: headlight brightness fades gradually over 3-5 years as bulbs age and lens covers yellow with UV exposure — so gradually that most drivers never notice it happening. On a night with kids in dark costumes darting between cars, that dimmer output matters.

If it's been a few years since you've thought about your headlights at all, that's usually the sign they need attention.

Drive safe out there tonight, Decatur.

Friday feeling, spooky edition! 🎃

Whatever your Halloween weekend looks like, we hope it's a good one — full of good candy and zero car trouble.

If your headlights need checking before tonight's trick-or-treat traffic, we're open today. Bulbs dim more over time than most people realize, and it matters more on a night like this.

Halloween's this weekend! 🎃

A real safety note, not just a holiday post: kids in dark costumes are genuinely hard to see, especially between parked cars. NHTSA data consistently shows Halloween has higher pedestrian incident rates than an average night.

Slow way down in neighborhoods after dark this weekend, and give yourself extra following distance. Stay safe out there, Decatur.

🔴 SERVICE SPOTLIGHT: Full Synthetic Oil Change

Full synthetic oil resists breakdown better than conventional oil across Alabama's wide temperature swings — from summer's 100°F afternoons to winter cold snaps — which means more consistent engine protection year-round.

✅ Full synthetic oil & new filter
✅ Tire pressure check
✅ 20-point multi-point visual inspection

Takes about 30-45 minutes, and it's genuinely one of the best-value things you can do for your engine's long-term lifespan.

🔧 The difference between ACDelco parts and generic aftermarket alternatives usually comes down to tolerances and testing — ACDelco supplies original equipment directly to GM's assembly lines, meaning the same specs and quality standards apply to what we install in your car.

✅ OEM-level fit and performance
✅ 24-month/unlimited-mile nationwide warranty
✅ Available for batteries, brakes, filters, and more

Generic parts can be cheaper upfront but often mean tighter tolerances aren't met, leading to premature wear. We'll always tell you the tradeoffs honestly if you want a cheaper option.
