Fantastic news!

Lake Decatur awarded $6.72 million grant for watershed protection!

Lake Decatur just received another win! The regional partnership led by the City of Decatur was awarded a $6.72 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). This money will help protect the lake by supporting farming practices like cover crops, no-till farming, and grassy waterways (shown in the photo).

This grant builds on a very successful $9.88 million RCPP grant Lake Decatur received in 2022. That project prevented 22,000 pounds of nitrogen, 3,160 pounds of phosphorous, and 2,940 tons of sediment from entering Lake Decatur.
