We’re so proud of 2026 SOAR graduate, E***l Moreno Avila!! At the conclusion of his senior year in SOAR, he applied for the Banzai National Scholarship after completing Banzai’s financial literacy program his junior year in SOAR. We’re excited to announce that E***l won the Banzai National Scholarship and was awarded $2500 to the college he is attending. Currently, E***l is attending UTD but will transfer to UNT in the spring. He is majoring in mathematics. Congratulations E***l!

A huge thank you goes to Legend Bank for sponsoring the Banzai financial literacy program and offering an additional scholarship opportunity. Legend Bank rewards $4,000 paid at $1,000 per year while the student is enrolled in college. Steven Schafer was the recipient of this scholarship last year and attends Tarleton State University.

In the Banzai program, students complete financial literacy modules and then write an essay explaining how they will use what they have learned in the program. They learn to budget, how to pay for college, and even how to save for retirement.

We are so grateful for a community that supports our students while encouraging them to grow academically!

Good job E***l!!
