It’s always a pleasure for our chamber students to have the opportunity to perform in our community! Tonight, they played delightful music by Handel, Vivaldi, Bach and more for the River Clay Fine Arts Festival.

We call this Executive Director privileges! 😆
I'm so proud of the progress the Eastwood Elementary viola students have made this semester! They are eager to learn, work hard without complaint, and encourage one another. It's just an added bonus that I get to ride my bike to work. 🚲🎻
This class is a part of our outreach string program called Breakfast with the Classics. Originally starting as a morning class at Woodmeade Elementary in 2012, it has grown to serve 6 schools, both before and after school! This year the program is graciously sponsored by Parker Moore.

Ending the week of learning on a beautiful note! 🎼🎻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Approximately 900 DCS students get to touch, play, and experience the beauty of the violin this year through our 3rd Grade Violin program in partnership with Decatur City Schools - Alabama. In the spring we take the program to county schools in the area that may not even have regular music programs for their students. Leading this program is a great privilege!

Our Prelude 2 beginner string ensemble is already sounding excellent!
We are so thankful for one of our newest staff members, Bethany Christman Wing, who came on board to serve as the Prelude Program Coordinator and to teach Prelude 1 and 2. She has developed the curriculum for our 3rd grade violin program as well as teaching guides for the instructors that serve in our outreach string program, Breakfast with the Classics. Just two weeks into rehearsals and great things are already taking place!
