Decatur First Baptist Church

“For the waywardness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them. But he who listens to me shall live securely And will be at ease from the dread of evil.” - Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭32‬-‭33‬

Don’t get in your own way today, listen to the Lord. He knows best!

Gather with the body of Christ (as He said) and be blessed! You’re welcome with us.

Main service is at 10:00am followed by Bible study, fellowship and lunch!

“Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And trust in the LORD.” - Psalms‬ ‭4‬:‭5‬

The only acceptable sacrifice IS wholly surrendered trust in the LORD! Give Him ALL who gave Himself for you.

“Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” - Proverbs‬ ‭30‬:‭5‬

We love the promise of protection, but often refuse to take refuge in God through His word. Believe AND obey to receive the benefit!

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” - 2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬

Get equipped! Get into the B.I.B.L.E. (basic instruction before leaving earth), believe & obey.

“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!” - Psalms‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬

You cannot expect blessings while living in disobedience. Your choices matter. Walk, stand, & even sit by the word & will of God.

“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!” - Psalms‬ ‭150‬:‭6‬

Don’t let temporary circumstances keep you from God’s eternal praise! Use the breath He has given you for the purpose He has provided it!

“But flee from these things (love of money), you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.” - ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬

If you profess to be christian, pursue the things of Christ! Make His word & will the priority of your life.

“Like a city that is broken into and without walls Is a man who has no control over his spirit.” - Proverbs‬ ‭25‬:‭28‬

Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit (Gal.5:22-23). No self-control = no Holy Spirit = no salvation = defeat! Surrender control to the Lord Jesus & find victory!

Surrender your Sunday morning to Him and gather with His bride, the church! You’re welcome with us.

10:00am main service followed by Bible study, fellowship, and lunch.

“Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.” - Psalms‬ ‭147‬:‭5‬

God sees. He knows. He cares. He is big enough to handle whatever it is.

Trust Him completely.

“I will praise the LORD while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.” - Psalms‬ ‭146‬:‭2‬
