November Gallery Opening: Thursday, November 5th

The Other Side Project: A Photographic Road Trip through America’s Heart exhibition featuring the work of photographers Melinda Green Harvey and VC Torneden.

As the historic highway reaches its centennial year, The Other Side offers an opportunity to look beyond the iconic signs, roadside attractions and familiar landmarks to consider the everyday places and stories that have shaped the Mother Road over the past century.

The collaborative project brings together two artists based in Route 66 states whose photographic styles and subject matter complement one another while offering distinctly different perspectives.

Together, their photographs create a layered portrait of Route 66 at a significant moment in its history, capturing what remains, what is changing, disappearing, and what is being remembered as the highway enters its second century of existence.

With Route 66 turning 100 in November, The Other Side invites viewers to celebrate the history of the Mother Road while looking closely at the less-traveled stories along its path. The exhibition serves as both a photographic record and a reflection on how American communities, landscapes, and roadside culture continue to evolve. The gallery opening is free and open to the public. The exhibition will be on view throughout November at Edmond Fine Arts.

Looking for a great space to display your artwork? Applications for the 2028 Gallery Schedule at Edmond Fine Arts are now open!

11 shows will be selected for 2028, each show lasts one month with the exception of the December show, which will remain up through January 2029. Artists may choose to apply for a solo show or as a duo or group show. Additionally, curators can submit applications for a curated show. Applications must be completed online by Monday, December 21st at 5:00pm.

EFA is looking for individual artists, artist groups, and curators to submit show proposals that include innovative, contemporary art and display skill and technique mastery.

Selections are based on an evaluation of work samples submitted and ideas proposed; we look for a strong, consistent aesthetic vision. We strongly encourage selected artists to create new work for their exhibition. The work in the application should demonstrate that you are capable in vision and scope of creating an exhibition.
