We thank each and every single one of the First Responders for our community! You take time away from your families and rush into horrific situations, countless hours of training, and often times spending your own money to help others...
Thank you for all you do!

🇺🇸 September 11 — We Remember 🇺🇸

Today, the Carroll County Rescue Squad pauses to remember the lives forever changed on September 11, 2001.

We remember the 2,977 innocent people who lost their lives, including the firefighters, police officers, EMS providers, and other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call of duty.

We remember the families who lost loved ones.
We remember the heroes who ran toward the danger.
And we remember the countless people who answered the call in the days that followed.

For the Carroll County Rescue Squad, this day also carries a very personal connection.

One of our own, Anna Mills, was serving as a member of the Cecil Fire Department in Williamstown, New Jersey, during the response to 9/11. In the aftermath of the attacks, Anna traveled to Ground Zero, where she spent four and a half days serving alongside other first responders and volunteers.

Her service is a reminder that the work of a rescuer doesn’t always end when the immediate emergency is over. Sometimes, the call means standing in the middle of unimaginable devastation, helping wherever you can, and simply refusing to leave until the job is done.

Today, we are honored to recognize Anna Mills for answering that call and for carrying the spirit of service that defines the rescue community.

From Ground Zero to Carroll County, Tennessee, her story is a reminder of what it means to live out our mission:

PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE.

Today, we remember those who never came home.
We honor those who served.
We recognize those who answered the call.
And we promise to NEVER FORGET.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Forever Remembered. 🇺🇸

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our member James (Jim) Bays. Jim was retired from the Navy, and moved to West Tennessee. Jim began volunteering in Carroll County with the Carroll County Fire Department Station 5, and became a member of the Carroll County Rescue Squad member in 2016. Jim exemplified what it means to be a member by his commitment and contributions and eagerness to always learn and help his community. We ask that you pray for his family and friends during this difficult time.

Lots of great things happening for the Carroll County Rescue Squad this weekend!

Trevor Foster, Logan Ledsinger, Noah Maxwell, John Cameron Norwood, and Justin Abbot traveled to the Hiwassee River and continued their advanced training in swiftwater and are all now Swiftwater 2 technicians. This is a first for Carroll County to have this level of trained personnel in place to help protect our communities in the event of flooding and fast moving water generated by storms.

Member Andrew Taylor traveled to Sparta Tennessee to attend a Low Angle Rope Operations course to advance his skills in rope rescue. These skills are valuable in times of lost persons, accidents where the patient may be down a ravine, or any place rope access is a necessity.

Our Captain Curt Taylor was the lead instructor for the Low Angle Rope Operations course. He volunteers his time and spends many weekends training our local crews and other rescuers across Tennessee.

The courses are offered through the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads. Your donations allow us to send our members to these valuable training courses to better serve our community!
