A place for anyone who is ready to choose themselves again. A space for every soul rising from hard chapters, reclaiming their life, healing their heart, and becoming their own magic. Didn't help one bit.
Grandmother Joyce had jokes for sure. She loved to laugh. The lessons were sometimes in them, and sometimes just quietly observed.
October = letting go and new beginnings. Neither are particularly easy.
The lessons just kept on coming….
It’s worth it
Grandmother Joyce really did believe there was always a treasure waiting to be found.
She never missed a garage sale.
In fact, one of her favorite stories to tell about me happened when I was about four years old.
We were walking through the neighborhood when I spotted laundry hanging on a clothesline.
Apparently, I got really quiet.
Grandmother asked what was wrong.
In my saddest little voice, I said…
“They’re having a garage sale… and I forgot my purse.”
😂
I guess some wisdom really is inherited.
I think Grandmother Joyce would’ve phrased it a little differently…
…although, in her later years, she probably would’ve laughed out loud and agreed with every word.
The lesson still stands.

Anyone else not mastered the art of silence?

Grandmother Joyce rarely announced her lessons. She simply lived them long enough for the rest of us to notice.
I've thought about this one a lot over the years.
Real relationships require real people. Not perfect people. Just honest ones.
What's a piece of advice that made more sense at forty than it did at twenty?
Grandmother's house was never the same from month to month, it was like a new obstacle course to conquer every visit.
