Hole Food Rescue is a non-profit organization working to reduce food waste & cultivate food security Check us out at www.holefoodrescue.org
When Ali Dunford, Hole Food Rescue’s founder, moved to Jackson in 2012 she began climbing into grocery store dumpsters looking for nutritious, still edible food to stretch her income. Day after day Ali discovered tons of high-quality food thrown away simply because of its sell-by date. Many times she found enough to host dinner parties for friends! After becoming overwhelmed with the amount of waste she encountered, she set out to find a solution and Hole Food Rescue was founded. Since its founding in 2013, Hole Food Rescue has grown to an organization of 250+ volunteers, rescued over three million pounds of food from going to waste, and in turn, helped countless community members stretch their income by receiving this rescued food for their families.

Yesterday, we welcomed Jennie Gordon, First Lady of Wyoming and No Kid Hungry to Hole Food Rescue! They got a behind-the-scenes look at our food rescue operations and helped us pack food for a no-cost grocery program.
Both the First Lady and No Kid Hungry are incredible advocates for improving food access for kids across Wyoming.
Together, we worked to bring SUN Bucks to Wyoming for the very first time this summer. This program helps families access groceries during the summer, and makes a difference for kids right here in Teton County.
Thank you, First Lady Jennie and No Kid Hungry! We’re so grateful for your leadership and partnership💚

After Jackson’s brief boil water advisory ended, local grocery stores had a lot bottled water with nowhere to go!
Hole Food Rescue stepped up to rescue 537 cases of excess water, weighing in at 14,364 pounds! We shared it with partners across our community, including Jackson Hole Fire/EMS, the Senior Center, Good Samaritan Mission, the Boy Scouts, and Jackson Hole Community School.
We’re grateful to be part of a community that comes together to make sure our resources don’t go to waste. 💚

Happy Food Waste Prevention Week! This week, Hole Food Rescue is joining partner organizations across the country to bring more awareness to food waste and its solutions.
Did you know that 40% of all food produced in the U.S. goes to waste? Food in landfills breaks down slowly and releases methane, a greenhouse gas 86 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
At Hole Food Rescue, we believe that reducing food waste and rescuing food is one of the most effective actions we can take to fight climate change.
This week, join us in thinking about some simple shifts you can make to reduce your food waste at home.

Every pound of food rescued is food kept out of our landfills!🌎
When food goes to waste, so do all of the resources used to grow, produce, and transport it. By rescuing food and sharing it with our community, Hole Food Rescue ensures those resources are put to good use.
Since 2013, we’ve kept more than 3.8 million pounds of food from going to waste!
When you give to Hole Food Rescue through Old Bill’s, you’re supporting a more sustainable local food system and feeding your neighbors along the way.
Make your gift by this Friday, September 18 at oldbills.org!

Every day, Hole Food Rescue rescues more than 1,500 pounds of food from local grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants.
Instead of going to the landfill, that food goes directly back into our community to feed our neighbors. When you give to Hole Food Rescue through Old Bill’s, you support the people and operations that make food rescue possible every single day.
Support Hole Food Rescue this Old Bill’s Giving Season and help us feed people, not landfills! You can make your gift at oldbills.org.
