The mission of the Gone with the Wind Museum is to preserve, celebrate, and share the cultural and historical significance of Margaret Mitchell's iconic novel and its lasting impact on literature, film, and American history.

Pauline Bartel has been a devoted “Windie” since the age of 16, when she first saw the film with her mother. Since then, Pauline has viewed the movie countless times and has observed the ways in which Scarlett positions herself for survival in her world. Pauline is an award-winning writer and a member of the prestigious American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA).

Ms. Bartel is the author of nine books, including Gone With the Wind: 1939 Day by Day, The Complete GONE WITH THE WIND Trivia Book (2nd ed.)

We are very excited to have her join us for a Zoom talk on Saturday 11/7 at 5pm at the Marietta History Center during the screening of the film. She will present "Scarlett’s Rules: Life Lessons from Scarlett O’Hara". Get your tickets to the 90th Jubilee weekend at https://www.store.gwtwmarietta.com

We are so excited to have Megan Tatum Miller speak at our 90th weekend event! See her talk Saturday 11/7 at 12pm.

Megan Tatum Miller is the curator and owner of Pegee of Williamsburg, specializing in historically accurate costume patterns including Walter Plunkett's film designs. Peggy Abbott Miller was a designer and costume creator who helped others see history through the lens of fashion with her 23 copyrighted patterns from Colonial Williamsburg 1776 and the movie Gone with the Wind.

Since Megan took over the business in 2016, she has worked to catalogue Peggy's research as one of the foremost authorities on historic costuming. Megan was able to make the patterns and her Gone with the Wind barbecue party dress fabric available again in 2020 via PegeeOfWilliamsburg.Etsy.com and Instagram .

Megan is excited to travel all the way from Richmond, VA to be a vendor at this 90th celebration after speaking at the museum in 2024. She will be bringing some of Pegee's “Gone With The Wind” collection for purchase including one-of-a-kind wall hangings, her additional limited patterns, and the "Barbecue Party Dress" fabric which took 11 years to recreate and can be found in the museum on display. As a thank you to Marietta community and all of the Windies attending the event, the fabric will be available for purchase by the yard at a discounted price on the day of our celebration, something Megan only does in person at our museum.
