We fuel and cultivate our visitors’ curiosity through the exploration of our Monroe County History.
We house one of the largest collections of artifacts relating to Southeast Michigan. Only a small percentage of the total collection can be exhibited at one time; many exhibits are changed each year. We are a unit of the County of Monroe, Michigan, governed by the County of Monroe, Michigan Board of Commissioners, and generously funded by the citizens of Monroe County. Also, we're filled with awesome stuff; you should come and see.
We’re looking forward to another great night of storytelling. Join the Monroe County Museum at Nocturnal for Charles Dickens’s The Signal-Man.
Thank you to everyone that supported our annual Octobernight event.
Ticket sales for 2026 are now closed.
See you in 2027.*
If you're interested in the flavor of Octobernight, join us at Nocturnal Monroe every Thursday in October for Shadowed Sips: Dramatic Readings of Historic Halloween.
*Ticket for 2027 go on sale beginning September 1.
