UNDERSTANDING PROSPECT’S ATESD PROGRAM

Why were these camera locations selected? What do the safety studies show? How are citations reviewed?

We understand that residents have questions, and we want the information to be easy to find and understand.

The Prospect Police Department is introducing a public education and transparency campaign about our Automated Traffic Enforcement Safety Device (ATESD) program.

Our first location feature is Waterbury Road. On our website, you can explore:

• The speed-study findings and crash history included in the approved plan.
• Department photographs showing the speed-limit signs, advance notices, and camera locations in both directions.
• The location-selection and state approval process.
• How citations are reviewed, including optional online screening and formal hearings before an independent civilian hearing officer.
• Supporting public documents.

New Haven Road and Cheshire Road will follow as we continue the series.

Visit the link in our first comment to explore the full information. We welcome your general questions and suggestions for future topics.

❤️ Every donation makes a difference!
Your generosity helps us provide vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and other essential medical care for the animals in our care and those who come to us in need. Every contribution helps us give these animals a healthier, happier future!
🐶❤️ A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO FIX-A-PIT! ❤️🐶
We’d like to give a huge thank you to Fix-A-Pit for sponsoring Dolly’s spay and vaccinations! Dolly is one of our recent abandoned dogs, and thanks to their generosity, she has received the medical care she needed to prepare for her next chapter. We are incredibly grateful for organizations that step up to help animals in need and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes. Thank you, Fix-A-Pit, for being part of Dolly’s journey! 🐾❤️
🏡 MEET DOLLY

Dolly is approximately 1 year old, full of playful energy, and ready to find a family of her own! 💕
🐾 Recently spayed and up to date on vaccinations
🐾 Loves to play!
🐾 May do well with other dogs, but a meet-and-greet is always required.
🐾 Because Dolly can jump when excited, a home with children over 10 years old is recommended.
Dolly deserves a loving home where she’ll be safe and cherished. Please share her story to help us find her the forever family she deserves! 🐶❤️
🎄 Come support Prospect Animal Control this holiday season!
✨ Mark your calendars, spread the holiday cheer, and join us for a wonderful day supporting our local animals!

After patiently waiting for the right family to come along, our sweet Emma has officially been ADOPTED! 🏡❤️

Emma came to us scared and unsure, but with patience, love, and lots of attention, she learned to trust again. Watching her blossom into the loving, silly, affectionate girl we always knew she could be has been so special. 🥹💕

A HUGE heartfelt thank you to Brass City Alliance for opening their doors to Emma, allowing her to stay with them, and giving her all the love, care, and attention she deserved while she waited for her forever family. ❤️🐾 We are so grateful for everything you have done for her!

And a special thank you to West Hartford Animal Control for helping share Emma’s story and getting her face and story out there. Your help played a part in getting Emma noticed and helping her find her happily ever after. 🐶💗

Now Emma gets to start the next chapter of her life with her forever family! 🏡✨

Upon his retirement from the State Police, Ofc. Borelli was hired by the Town of Prospect as an officer. We were fortunate to have Ofc. Borelli protect our town residents for the last 6 years.
