After graduating with a degree in Education, Skip taught school for 2 years at Lee Jr High in Monroe. He was director of High School relations at Louisiana Tech for 6 years which is where he met his bride, Carolyn. For a short stent Skip worked for US congress with Jerry Huckaby in Washington. Since then, he has been a State Farm Insurance agent for the past 45 years. Their favorite things to do include any Louisiana Tech sporting event and attending anything their grandchildren are involved in. On any random day you can find Skip on his farm wrangling his 40 cows or 60 miniature horses.

🥯🥓🍳 MOVE OVER, DRIVE-THRU… WE’VE GOT BREAKFAST COVERED! 😂❤️
This morning, we decided to skip the fast-food breakfast and turn the Skip Russell State Farm kitchen into our very own little breakfast café! 👩🍳
On the menu: toasted bagels topped with creamy Boursin scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and sausage! 🤤🙌
Missy took over as head chef, and Chris stepped up as her trusty sous chef! 👨🍳😂 We’re not saying we’re ready to open a restaurant… but we’re also not ruling it out! 🤣
There’s just something special about starting the morning around the table with good food, lots of laughs, and the people you spend your days with. ❤️
Around here, we’re more than coworkers… we’re FAMILY! And apparently, we eat pretty well, too! 😂
Now the real question… WHO’S COOKING TOMORROW?! 👀🤣

Hey, everyone! 👋❤️ My name is Summer Fortenberry, and I’m so excited to introduce myself as part of the Skip Russell State Farm team!
I’m originally from Tallulah, Louisiana, and moved to Ruston to attend Louisiana Tech University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Marketing. I’m also excited to be graduating with my Master’s in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech this November! 💙
Ever since moving to Ruston, I’ve completely fallen in love with this town. I truly believe people make a place special, and this community is like no other. Ruston will always be home to me, and I’m so grateful for everything this town has given me. I’m excited to give back by helping our customers navigate their insurance needs and making sure they feel welcomed, valued, and taken care of!
Growing up in a small town taught me the importance of family, building relationships, and always treating people with kindness. I’ve always been known for having a smile on my face, and one of my biggest goals is to bring that same positivity to every customer I meet!
When I’m not at work, you can usually find me shopping, spending time with friends, or trying out a new restaurant around town. And if I’m not with my friends, I’m probably with my family, especially my two-year-old niece, who keeps me busy and entertained! 🩷
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Skip Russell State Farm family, and I can’t wait to begin this new chapter! I look forward to meeting you all and helping take care of our wonderful Ruston community. Stop by and say hello! ❤️🏡
😂🚨 WHEN THE BOSS HAS 30 SECONDS OF FREE TIME… AND YOU HAVE 52 QUESTIONS! 🤣📋
“Hey Missy, you got a quick second?” 👀
Famous. Last. Words. 😂👏
One question turns into five… five turns into twenty… and before you know it, we’re having a full-blown staff meeting in the doorway! 🤦♀️🤣
But that’s what happens when you have a team that works together, asks questions, and keeps each other on our toes! ❤️
Around here, my door is always open… I’m just learning that I might need to start closing it occasionally! 😂🚪
Never a dull moment with this crew, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! ❤️
Fellow bosses… PLEASE tell me you can relate! 🙋♀️🤣

📞😂 WHEN A CUSTOMER WANTS AN INSURANCE QUOTE RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!
We LOVE a customer who’s ready to get down to business! 🤣👏
And trust us… we’re just as excited to get you a quote as you are to get one! ❤️
But first, we’re gonna need to ask you approximately 47 questions! 😂📝
All jokes aside, there’s a reason we ask so many questions! We want to make sure we’re finding the right coverage, checking for every discount available, and giving you a quote that actually fits YOUR needs!
Because at Skip Russell State Farm, it’s not just about giving you a number… it’s about making sure you know what you’re getting! ❤️
📲 READY FOR YOUR QUOTE? GIVE US A CALL! We promise to make it as painless as possible! 🤣

😂🎬 A PAID DAY OFF OR ANOTHER DAY OF MAKING TIKTOKS?!
We really thought this was going to be a tough decision… but apparently some choices require a little more thought than others! 🤣💁♀️
Listen, we LOVE making y’all laugh, but when a paid day off enters the conversation, suddenly everybody has some decisions to make! 😂👏
At Skip Russell State Farm, we work hard, laugh harder, and somehow manage to turn just about EVERYTHING into social media content! ❤️
And the best part? Y’all get a front-row seat to all the craziness!
Now we want to know… which one would YOU choose?! 👀👇
💰 A paid day off

🚨😂 OPERATION: MISSY IS EVERYWHERE! 👀🤣
They say when the boss is away, the girls will play… and apparently MY TEAM took that VERY seriously! 🤦♀️😂
Missy leaves the office for a little while and suddenly there are tiny Missys hiding EVERYWHERE! 💁♀️
On the walls? ✅
At the front desk? ✅
In the most random places imaginable? ✅✅✅
Apparently, even when I’m not at work, I’M STILL AT WORK! 🤣
The real question is… HOW LONG will it take me to find them all?! And how many will we still be finding six months from now?! 😂
Never a dull moment with this crew! ❤️ We work hard, laugh harder, and clearly cannot be left unsupervised!
If you stop by the office, keep your eyes open… you just might spot a mini Missy! 👀🤣

🚨🔥 THE OFFICE IS ON FIRE!!! GRAB WHAT’S IMPORTANT!!! 😂🏃♀️💨
Well… if there’s ever an emergency at Skip Russell State Farm, we’ve officially learned where everyone’s priorities are! 🤣
🐶 Emotional support dog? SAVED!
☕ Coffee? ABSOLUTELY!
🍿 Snacks? CAN’T LEAVE THOSE!
👯♀️ Work bestie? COMING WITH ME!
💰 Office money? SECURED!
🌿 Office plant? Apparently VERY IMPORTANT!
😂 And somebody even remembered JAKE!
We’re not sure we’d pass a fire drill, but we definitely know how to make one entertaining! 🤣❤️
One thing’s for sure… this team is full of personality, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Now we have to know… what’s the ONE thing you’d grab if you had to run out of your office?! 👀👇
🚗❤️ RIDE WITH RUSSELL!
🚨🚔 WE HAVE A SUSPECT… AND SHE’S NOT EVEN TRYING TO HIDE! 😂🤣
When the police show up looking for the FUNNIEST person in the office… and suddenly somebody is making sure she’s seen! 💁♀️😂
Ma’am, nobody said you had to turn yourself in! 🤣👏
At Skip Russell State Farm, we may have a little too much fun at work, but we promise we know when to get serious!
✅ Serious about protecting your family
✅ Serious about saving you money
✅ Serious about taking care of our customers
❌ Serious about ourselves? NOT SO MUCH! 😂❤️
Life’s too short not to laugh a little!
