lies the 23.4 square mile rural community of
Spring Creek. Spring Creek is family friendly.
Outdoor Recreation and Spring Creek
have become synonymous. Lamoille Canyon, Southfork Reservoir State Park, and the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge are all within
a short drive. There is easy access to Spring Creek
via Lamoille Highway (SR227) from Intersate 80 in
Elko, Nevada. Newcomers are welcomed and considered a valuable
resource who bring fresh perspective and experience. It is easy to become involved in the many active youth and adult clubs and organizations available. An example is the
outdoor recreation at our 32 acre stocked private marina, which provides opportunities for fishing,
canoeing, wildlife viewing, covered picnic areas
with grills, open space and playground equipment. Spring Creek Association property owner assessments are used for the maintenance and operation of all amenities as well as the expenses involved with managing such a large area and diversified Homeowner's Association. There is approximately 150 miles of roadways, all of which have asphalt surfacing. Elko County School District operates three Elementary
schools, a Middle School, and a High School in our
area. Our access to quality healthcare professionals
and facilities is expanding. Public Safety is provided
by the Elko County Sheriff's Department, Nevada
Division of Forestry and our Volunteer Fire Department. The business climate in Spring Creek allows home-based businesses. You will find a major grocery store, pharmacy, post office, credit union, dental office, barbers, beauty salons, hardware store, variety store, gas stations, convenience stores, pizza parlors, sandwich shops, variety of restaurants, lounges, gaming, fitness centers, legal services, pet grooming, car washes, realty office, manufactured home sales, refuse collection services, propane services, feed store, multiple churches, auto repair, building and construction contractors with space still available for new businesses to locate and grow. 💜 HAPPY NEVADA DAY! 💜
162 Years of Being BATTLE BORN!
Have you ever wondered why Nevada is called the Battle Born State?
Here's where the story gets interesting! 👀
Nevada earned its famous nickname during one of the most politically charged times in American history.
In 1864, President Abraham Lincoln was seeking reelection while fighting to preserve the Union and abolish slavery.
Nevada was strongly pro-Union, and granting it statehood would provide additional electoral votes and strengthen support in Congress, including for the 13th Amendment to abolish slavery.
With the presidential election approaching, Nevada's statehood was fast-tracked. In fact, the territory's constitution was sent to Washington, D.C., by an incredibly long and expensive telegram to help get the process completed in time!
On October 31, 1864, just eight days before the presidential election, Nevada officially became the 36th state.
And that's how Nevada became BATTLE BORN!
Not because Civil War battles were fought on our soil, but because our state was born in the midst of a war that would forever change our nation.
🏔️ Today, 162 years later, we're proud to call the Silver State home!
